Triton Poker Series Monte Carlo 2023: Jason Koon Claims Record-Setting 10th Triton Title

One of the world’s prominent poker pros, Jason Koon has created history by becoming the first player to win titles in Hold’em, Short Deck and PLO at Triton. He achieved this historic milestone at the Triton Poker Series Monte Carlo 2023 when he shipped Event 13 $25K PLO Turbo for $365,000.

This marked his 10th Triton Poker Series title win, making him the first-ever player in history to ship titles in Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) and Short Deck. Koon finally bested online PLO beast Eelis Parssinen in the heads-up battle to add 10th Triton Poker Series trophy to his illustrious resume.

Koon didn’t make much of an impact in hold’em events but shipped the PLO event like a boss. Talking about his PLO win, he said, “Happy to close it up. Every night I go home and I study my play and I think I played the best I’ve played in a couple of years. It’s bizarre to get wiped out but playing really well.”

Coming back to EVENT 13 – $25K PLO TURBO, this event drew in a total of 50 entries with 15 re-entries and generated $1.25 Million in prizepool. It had 20 minute levels but they were later brought down to 15 minutes. Li Tong exited as bubble boy. The final table of the event featured big names like Sam Greenwood, Laszlo Bujtas, Ren Lin, Tom-Aksel Bedell, Sergio Martinez and Joao Vieria.
