Adda52 Team Pro Amit Jain is Among Top 4 Players in WPT India Player of the Year Race

As WPT India starting 7th November 2017 at Deltin Royale Casino Goa inches closer, the race for the coveted WPT India Player of the Year (POY) title tightens up with many players and pros vying hard for the glory ahead. Interestingly enough, the top four players are at par with each of them holding 600 POY points. Adda52 Team Pro- Amit Jain is among the leaders for the POY title with 600 points. In September 2017, Amit won DPT 75K High Roller, which helped him to accumulate 600 POY points to climb WPT India POY leaderboard. Another player in lead is Nitin Gupta who won DPT Main Event back in July 2017, which eventually gave him 600 POY points to climb up the leaderboard.wpt indiaAmong other players ahead in the race for WPT India POY title is Rajnish Kumar from Patna who won DPT High Roller Event in July this year and earned 600 POY points. Another player holding 600 POY points is Vikram Kumar “Lungi” who didn’t win a big event but claimed a small event-DPT 15K Bounty in September. He also made three deep runs across DPT High Roller and 2 DPT PLO events.

While the above poker players from India hold the edge, the rest of the top 15 players from the country falling within the 400-point range are also in contention for the WPT India POY title.

WPT India POY Qualifying Events

The POY race officially began at the Deltin Poker Tour Goa back in July this year and was followed by another edition of Deltin Poker Tour Goa in September this year. Here is the list of qualifying events:

  • Deltin Poker Tour Goa – July 20-24
  • Deltin Poker Tour Goa – September 6-11
  • WPTDeepStacks India – November 7-1

With the WPT POYs gearing up to be nail-biter endings, a large number of the Indian poker players and pros is expected to attend the upcoming WPT India event, which is scheduled to take place from 7th to 13th November at Deltin Royale Goa. According to WPT, some international players will also be attending the event. While the two WPT Champions Club members, Sam Panzica and Daniel Weinmann have already confirmed their attendance, some more are expected to give their confirmations very soon.
