After Nikita at WPT500 Aria, Jagdeep Singh Makes Final Table in Event 64 of WSOP 2017

After Adda52 Team Pro Nikita Luther taking 5th place at WPT500 Aria Las Vegas, yet another Indian player named Jagdeep Singh from New Delhi creates waves in poker community. He made it to Day 3 of Event #64: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Mix at World Series of Poker, Las Vegas and finished at 9th place for $20,181 (INR 13 Lacs). It was the first final table finish at WSOP for Singh who was 13 of 16 players left on the Day 3 with 138,000 in chips.JAGDEEP CROPPED

Jagdeep Singh went out in 9th place after his set of kings couldn’t hold against Shorr who got a Ts to make a straight on the river. It was $1,500 event, which drew 1,058 entries, creating a prizepool of $1,428,300. In the end, it was Sebastian Langrock from Austria who took down the event for $268,555. He beat Ryan Laplante in heads-up play who claimed $165,983 for his second place finish. On the final hand playing pot-limit omaha, Langrock flopped the nut straight to win the title. A total of 159 players made it to in the money in this event with min-cash of $2,252.

Some other well-known players who cashed include Connor Drinan (12th place – $15,749), Chris Moorman (17th place – $8,137), Juha Helppi (28th place – $6,718), Bryce Yockey (39th place – $5,628), Matt Affleck (48th place – $4,785), Jeff Gross (72nd place – $3,222), Barny Boatman (99th place – $2,501), Carlos Mortensen (126th place – $2,374), and defending champion Loren Klein (137th place – $2,293).

Indian Players Cashing out at other WSOP Events

Event #65: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em

It was $1,000 event that attracted a total of 1,413, taking the prizepool to a whopping $1,271,700. A total of 212 players made to in the money in this event. Shai Zurr became the second Israeli bracelet winner of the summer by capturing his bracelet in Event #65: $1,000 NLH. Zurr follows in the footsteps of Ben Maya, who took down Event #47: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout earlier this summer.Zurr received $223,241 and the first WSOP gold bracelet after beating Ognjen Sekularac in the heads-up game. Sekularac from Serbia settled for $137,909 for making a remarkable runner-up finish.

“It’s a dream come true, obviously,” an ecstatic Zurr said after the tournament. “This is my third final table in Vegas, but no bracelet. I’m so happy to join the bracelet winners family, also the Israeli bracelet winners family.”

India’s star players Dhaval Mudgal and Aditya Sushant also took to the tables in this event. Mudgal cashed in the event at 124th for $1,804 and Sushant took 159th place for $1,573.

Event #63: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em

In this event, there were 1,750 hopeful players who entered but only one man survived Event #63: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em. Rulah Divine from the US won his first bracelet and $262,501- his largest cash by far. Not bad for a $60 investment; Divine won the seat in a WSOP.com qualifier. Heads up lasted just for 23 hands and Patrick Truong got eliminated when his two pair couldn’t beat the higher two pair of Divine. Truong from US walked out with $162,170 for his runner-up finish in this event.

India’s Aditya Sushant (from Chennai) also cashed out in this event, finishing 256th for $1,500. A total of 263 players cashed out in this event with min-cash remaining $1,500 for making 263rd place finish.

Event #60: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed

This event that featured a buy-in of $888 drew a total of 8,120, taking the prize pool to $6,489,504. In the end, it was Romanian player Alexandru Papazian who took down the event for $888,888, claiming his first-ever WSOP bracelet. He beat Germany’s Kilian Kramer in heads-up who took home $463,888 for his 2nd place finish in this tournament. A total of 1119 players made in the money through this event.

Alexandru Papazian, “I play for a long time and I am not as excited as most people; that’s just the way I am. I am not emotional, but I am still super happy about it. And I hope there will be another one for a Romanian, I hope there is more to come and you gonna see us around.”

From Indian contingent in this tournament, Adda52 Team Pro Amit Jain cashed out at 82nd place for $5,637, Aditya Sushant at 85th place for $1,742 and Shashank Jain at 248th place for $4,156.
