America’s Alex Foxen Wins 2018 APPT Macau Super High Roller For $982,800

Of late, American poker pro – Alex Foxen has been enjoying a hot run. In December 2017, he finished second in the WPT Five Diamond Classic Main Event for $1,134,202, and very recently in February 2018 this year, he won the $25,000 L.A. Poker Classic RockStar High Roller title for $424,625. He has now added a third title by wining the 2018 APPT Macau $400,000 HKD ($51,002 USD) NLH Super High Roller. Foxen outlasted a strong field of 68 entries to claim $7,560,000 HKD ($982,800 USD).

Foxen won a live satellite into this event and then never looked back. He ended both Day 1 and Day 2 as the chip leader. Moving into the 9-handed final table, he held about 40% of the chips in play. Several big players were seen at the final table, including Isaac Haxton (9th – $97,500 USD), three Super High Roller Bowl champions – Christoph Vogelsang (8th – $127,644 USD), Brian Rast (7th – $164,710 USD) and Rainer Kempe (4th – $346,190 USD), the PartyPoker LIVE MILLIONS High Roller winner – Patrik Antonius (6th – $208,390 USD), and Samuel Greenwood (3rd – $458,770 USD).

The heads-up took place between Foxen and Shan Huang, who took around a 10:7 lead into heads-up play. However, Foxen took over the lead eventually, and by the time the final hand came, Huang was left with just 10 big blinds. On the last hand, Foxen moved all-in from the button with As-6s and Huang called with Ks-Qc. The board ran out 10d-5h-8h-Jd-7d and Foxen won it with Ace high.
