Anthony Merulla wins WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open

Anthony Merulla defeated David Paredes in a long heads up battle that lasted more than 4 hours to win the $3 Million Guaranteed World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship. The poker player won $842,379, The WPT Champions Cup and a limited edition Monster headphones for his effort,  and also the elite Champions Club membership. The final table was a tough one for Merulla featuring Champions Club Member Jared Jaffee and the huge stack of Paredes as competition. 

The final table was stacked but was very quick. It went down to three handed action within 60 hands, there on it became slightly slow and heads up action between Merulla and Paredes lasted almost 100 hands. The two players took turns doubling up for hours and finally Merulla reigned at the Borgata Hotel and Casino.

1st: Anthony Merulla – $842,379
2nd: David Paredes – $499,549
3rd: Anthony Maio – $307,565
4th: Jared Jaffee – $258,590
5th: Vladislav Mezheritsky – $213,650
6th: Farid Jattin – $174,352
