One of the biggest poker brands in Asia is the Asian Poker Tour (APT). They host several exciting poker events at different locations throughout the year. A large Indian contingent takes part in their live poker tournaments and a much bigger Indian participation is expected at the future APT events, after their partnership with India’s Baadshah Gaming company for qualifying players for APT events.
A couple of months back, APT postponed one of their scheduled APT Macau events, which led to a lot of players having to cancel their trips. Now, the company has made yet another announcement saying that the season-ending APT Finale will be shifted from Macau to the Resort World Manila.
As per the APT sources, they don’t want players to cancel their trips and then feel uncomfortable due to that, so they have shifted the APT Finale festival from the Macau Billionaire Poker Room to Resorts World Manila in Philippines, with the series scheduled to be played between the same dates.
Commenting on this move, APT CEO, Jeff Mann, said, “In August we had to cancel our scheduled event in Macau due to circumstances beyond either APT’s or our local partner’s control. We did not wish this to happen again given that some confirmations for the event including exact dates were outstanding. The fact is our Finale is becoming very popular with players from around the world and already some are requesting confirmed details so that they can make plans for the end of the year.”
The season-ending APT series takes place between 27 November and 6 December this year. This will become APT’s third stop at Manila in 2018. The first stop took place early this year and the second stop is scheduled to kick off next week and be played between 13-24 September.
Manila is one of the fastest emerging poker destinations. The place has been attracting players from various parts of the Asian region. A lot of other tournaments are also happening there, including the recently announced PokerStars Manila Super Series, which is will be hosted between 1-7 October.
