Benjamin Zamani Wins WSOP Circuit 2018 Planet Hollywood Main Event

Benjamin Zamani won the prestigious WSOP Circuit Planet Hollywood Main Event title.  The two-time WSOP bracelet winner defeated a strong field of 870 entries to claim his first-ever WSOP Circuit gold ring and a massive $192,152 in the top prizemoney.

Zamani entered the final day of the tournament with nine other survivors from Day 2. The player was 3rd in chips with 1.5 million chips, well behind the start-of-the-day chip leader Scott Powrie, who held 3.925 million in chips when the cards were thrown in the air for the Day 3 of the tournament. The well-known Barry Hutter was 2nd in chips at the start of the day.

Zamani ran well at the final table and quickly caught up with Powrie to eventually take the lead. He further extended his lead by sending Cheong to the rail in the 8th place ($22,436). Zamani then picked up pocket kings against Aaron McEvoy’s pocket tens and went on to win a huge pot.

Zamani kept up the pressure and extended his lead during the four-handed play. He continued his aggression and very soon went on to eliminate two more players from the final table. Yes, he eliminated Scott Powrie and Barry Hutter in 4th and 3rd places to take a massive lead into the heads-up against Benjamin Palmer, who finished in the 2nd place for a hefty $118,849.

The last hand of the tournament saw Zamani moving all-in from the button with 10c-7c and Palmer called for his last 480,000 with Jh-2h. The board ran out Ac-Kd-Jd-Qh-3s. The turn gave Zamani a straight to take down the coveted WSOP Circuit Planet Hollywood Main Event title.
