Chad Eveslage Leads Remaining 18 Into Day 4 Of WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown

Day 3 of the ongoing WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has ended with just 18 players remaining from the original field of 1,360. Chad Eveslage has emerged as the massive chip leader with 10.76 million chips. He holds close to 20 percent of the total chips in play and  is thus far ahead of James Carroll holding 5,250,000 chips in 2nd place.

Eveslage started Day 3 with 1.030 chips and got a good start with a double-up through two-time WPT Champions Club member Aaron Mermelstein. Eveslage then extended his chip lead further by busting start of Day 3 chip leader Keith Ferrera with his aces, which beat the ace-king of Ferrera.

“It was probably the best I’ve ever run in this six- or seven-hour span. I didn’t really face any adversity. I got it in bad against Aaron Mermelstein, and had six outs. I drilled for about 3 million and just kept making hands. It was pretty much like that all day. It was the easiest day ever,” Eveslage said.

Holding 6th spot in the US All Time Money List, Eveslage is a veteran with $1,292,662 total live earnings. He already holds five WPT cashes, with his best score coming from the Season XII WPT Rolling Thunder event where he finished 8th for $ 41,410. In Season XV, Eveslage finished 17th in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and now he must be eyeing a win in the ongoing event.

Among the remaining players into Day 4 of the marquee event, there are several champions, including WPT Champions Club member James Carroll, who is second with 5,250,000 in chips. He will be looking to beat his 7th-place score, which he had achieved a few weeks ago at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic. Joining him among remaining Champions Club member is two-time winner Eric Afriat, who had won the Season XII WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. Other champions remaining in contention include 3-time Super Bowl champion and NFL Hall of Fame finalist Richard Seymour (660,000 chips) and WPTDeepStacks champion Maria Ho (4,175,000 chips). Maria is the only female player among the final 18 and she will be eyeing a big score in this event.

Some of the Champions Club members who could not make Day 4 include Will Failla (31st), Erik Seidel (35th), Mermelstein (53rd), Niall Farrell (55th), Justin Young (60th), Patrick Serda (61st), Seth Davies (64th), Harrison Gimbel (81st), Frank Stepuchin (86th), and Darren Elias (89th).
