Chetan Oswal Outlasts A Record 524-Entry Field To Win 1st Godfather Of 2019

What a start to the New Year! Chetan Oswal won the very first Godfather of 2019 to take home a hefty INR 6,28,800 and an entry into a 9 Lac Vegas Package SNG to be played on 3^rd March 2019.

Playing under ‘oswalchetan’, Oswal is a lesser-known player who registered on Adda52 just a few months ago. Like most of us, the player started with small buy-in tournaments and after faring well across these tournaments, he decided to play some major tournaments. Yesterday, he took part in the INR 5,500 buy-in Godfather 7.0 and finally ended up winning it after a long grind of over 8 hours.

The 1st Godfather of 2019, which was also the first of its 7th edition, went on to become a huge success with a record field of 524 entries, which took the total prize pool to a whopping INR 26,40,000. The prize pool was shared by top 55 finishers with min-cashes starting from INR 11,790.

On his way to the victory in this most successful Godfather tournament, Oswal beat a strong field and a tough final table that featured our WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant aka ‘A_Sushant’ (runner-up for INR 3,66,800), Adda52 Team Pro – Tarun Goyal aka ‘aggtarun’ (2^nd runner-up for INR 2,48,900) and Hitesh Batra aka ‘buntai’, who exited the tournament in 9^th place for INR 39,300.

The tournament saw several regs and pros battling it out for the 1^st place. Some notables who finished in the money among them were Shravan Chhabria aka ‘sweatmyass13’- 14th for INR 26,200, Siddharth Karia aka ‘skaria1’ – 17^th for INR 22,270, Sumit Sapra aka ‘Hammer_Head’ – 25^th for INR 17,030, Gokul Raj aka ‘gokoolered’ – 38^th for INR 14,410, Manesh Rathod aka ‘TEAMfromHELL’ – 47^th for INR 11,790 and ‘badtameez_donk’ – 53^rd for INR 11,790 in prize.

While the winner Oswal was not available for the comment, he must be happy with his terrific start to 2019. This major win must be a huge boost to his online poker bankroll and his overall motivation.
