Former WSOP ME Champion Martin Jacobson Joins PSL As Wildcard Player

The highly anticipated Poker Sports League (PSL) season 2 starts next week! This time, it takes place in Goa from 9th-13th May. After the season 1, the league owner Amit Burman called it a trailer in comparison to what season 2 has to offer. This has raised India’s expectation from the season 2.

The PSL season 2 promises high-octane action and features a whopping INR 3.6 crore prize pool. A total of 11 teams will compete for this huge amount. Every team comprises of 10 players namely captain, mentor, two live qualifiers, two pros, two wild-card entrants and three online qualifiers.

To qualify for the PSL, players from all over India have been competing in live qualifiers and online qualifiers for the last 3 months. For the last few weeks, the PSL team managers have been declaring the names of the wildcard entrants, and obviously, there is now one standard name – Martin Jacobson.

Jacobson, who has now joined PSL as a wildcard player, is one of the most talented poker players in the world. He carries the respect of being the former World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion. This has already made him a superstar amongst poker fans in India. Joining PSL is a smart move by the 888Poker Team Pro – Jacobson, who currently resides in London. It will not only help him to compete with India’s best players but also help him to promote the 888poker brand.

Jacob’s decision to compete in PSL is a big achievement for the 888Poker. We can’t say whether the 888Poker planned this move, or whether Jacobson himself settled on personal terms with the PSL, but either way, this move will definitely bring the benefits to Jacobson, 888Poker, and PSL.

The addition of Martin Jacobson continues PSL’s attempts to add an aura and respect to the league. To add the glamour and respect to the game of poker, the Poker Sports League recently signed-up the Chess Grandmaster and Indian superstar – Viswanathan Anand.
