Dan Smith’s top position did not hold long as Ole Schemion is back to reclaim his position on the Global Poker Index (GPI) this week. Schemion will arrive on EPT Barcelona with only a 90 point lead on Smith. ‘RealKidPoker’ Daniel Negreanu retains his #3 spot this week.

Each week, the Global Poker Index (GPI) releases a list of the top 300 tournament poker players in the world using a formula that takes a player’s results over six half-year periods. The GPI also ranks the top performers of the year over two six-month periods. The GPI rankings released every Thursday rank the top 300 players as well maintain a Player of the Year Leader board also.

WSOP 2014 November Niner Martin Jacobson comes back to GPI Top 10 after more than 2 years. He was last a member on 30th Apr, 2012. Jacobson climbed 6 spots to #10. Another successful player this week is Scott Seiver who climbed 6 spots to land at #4. Seiver’s GPI score remains steady even after not cashing since WSOP 2014. However, players like Paul Volpe, Erik Siedel and Alex Bilokur dropped 2 points each to land at #7, #8 and #9 respectively.

Pierre Neuville reaches his highest ranking since 8th Aug, 2013 at #186. This 71-year old owes his 64 spot climb to an incredible performance at WSOP 2014 and a final table finish at WPT National Brussels. Former GPI World Top 20 Christian Harder climbed 49 spots to land at #113 owing to a main event victory at Live Summer Series of Poker in his hometown Maryland.

Taking the biggest fall in GPI this week is Canadian Yann Dion who fell 105 spots to be at #206. Not participating this summer in the WSOP 2014 was the a reason for this downfall. Former GPI World #1 Marvin Retteinmaier also took a big fall this week of 30 spots and is now ranked at #57.
