GPI Rankings- Dan Smith continues to be at #1 spot, Ole Schemion slips to #9

GPIRuling at the top position of the GPI  Rankings for 90 days, Dan Smith is ground working for the end of the year, which will see him chase the race for GPI Player of the Year. Smith, who has held #1 position since late August, is currently ranked fourth in the PoY race. This week two poker biggies Scott Seiver (GPI#2, +1) and Jason Mercier (GPI#3, -1) have swapped their spots. Former World #1 Daniel Negreanu and 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Martin Jacobson have jacked up a spot in the Top 10. Ole Schemion, the GPI Player of the Year 2013 has fallen harder and faster to #9, his nethermost ranking since September 4, 2013.

On every Thursday, GPI (Global Poker Index) releases a list of top 300 Poker tournament players. To dwell this list of top Poker performers of the World, GPI maintains a Poker Index point system and uses special formula. Through this leaderboard, GPI as well announces Player of the Year.

This week Jacob Bazeley, the former World #64, has made the gigantic climb in GPI 300. The credit goes to his achievements this year. He cleared the decks in nine events including a 4th place finish at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and a 15th place in WPT bestbet Jacksonville Bounty Scramble. Justin Zaki has bounced back in the Top 100 for the first time in five months. Christain Harder (GPI#141, -40), who was ranked number one tournament poker player in 2009, just need a single point to enter GPI Top 100 Rankings.

Former World #2 Philipp Gruissem (GPI#152, -52) had a sizable drop this week. Gruissem, who has been in Top 100 since October 2011, has fallen beyond the bounds of the Top 100 for the first time. Steven Silverman (GPI#256, -42) had a momentous fall for the second straight week. Though Silverman has not been ranked outside the GPI300 since the end of 2012, he is expected to have furthermore falls in nthe GPI standings.
