Iori Yogo Ships APT Korea Main Event; Masato Yokosawa Wins Super High Roller Title

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) is one of the fastest emerging poker brands in Asia. The brand continues to expand its reach by hosting some exciting poker tournaments at various locations where the top pros are participating to battle it out for big prizes. Currently, they are hosting the APT Korea Incheon Championships, which is scheduled to take place between 8-19 August 2018.

APT Korea Incheon Championships features a total of 13 tournaments on its schedule. Headlining the series was the KRW 1,100,000 (~INR 68,500) Main Event, which drew 192 entries, generating a hefty KRW 186,240,000 (~INR 1.16 crore) in the prize pool, which was shared by the top 32 players.

Outlasting the field in this event was Iori Yogo who took home KRW 40,463,000 (~INR 25.21 Lac) for his grand win. Yogo is one of the most consistent players from Japan and has several notable scores in his name. This year has been amazing as he also won the APT Philippines Championship Event in April for over $45K. His notched up his best live cash $123,095 back in 2013 when he finished runner-up in the  ANZPT Repechage Main Event, Melbourne, Australia.

Japan’s Masato Yokosawa Wins the CoinPoker Super High Rollers

Another major event completed so far was the CoinPoker Super High Roller, which saw several notables in Winfred Yu, Calvin Sung Won Lee, Daniel Hyon Gin Lee, Masato Yokosawa, Dennis Chung Yuan Yu, and Kilian Loffler. In the end, it was Japan’s Masato Yokosawa who won the title for KRW 74,160,000, while USA’s Daniel Lee finished 2nd for KRW 50,000,000. Yokosawa and Daniel Lee battled it hard in heads-up for about 4 hours and finally the former won the title.

With the buy-in set at KRW 16,000,000, the event generated the prize pool of KRW 124,160,000 (~US$109,500). Initially, the money was intended for the winner only, but due to the length of heads-up, both players eventually opted to pay out the 2nd place. Here is a look at the payouts:

Eric Tsai and Kevin Clark win CoinPoker High Rollers events

There were two more CoinPoker High Rollers events in the roster. The first one won by Taiwan’s Eric Tsai who topped a field of 57 entries to pocket the KRW 32,229,000 first prize. He defeated Japan’s Inotsume Kazuma in heads up. The other CoinPoker High Rollers was a single day event wherein New Zealand’s Kevin Clark emerged as the winner after topping the 48-player field. He earned KRW 28,904,000. Clark also reached the money in the earlier High Roller pocketing  KRW 10,919,000 for his 4th place finish. These scores in high rollers put him at KRW 40M in winnings at the series.
