Yesterday was a busy day at the ongoing 2018 PokerStars LIVE Asia Jeju Red Dragon as it saw three events, namely ₩12M High Roller, ₩2.2M NLH and ₩800K Megastack coming to a conclusion.
The ₩12M High Roller that drew a total of 95 entries and generated a prize pool of ₩1,073,500,000 found a champion in the Beijing native Yin Gui Li, who managed to beat a very strong field to claim his maiden PokerStars LIVE title, along with his career-bset ₩285,010,000 in top prizemoney. India’s Kalyan Chakravarthy had made Day 2 with 300,000 chips, but unfortunately he failed to cash out.
The ₩2.2M NLH found a winner in China’s Jian Biao Zhong who overcame a strong field of 151 entries. Zhong clinched his first-even PokerStars LIVE title for a whopping ₩70,410,000 in top prizemoney. He beat Xin Jin in heads-up who walked away with ₩57,950,000 in prizemoney.
₩800K Megastack
Coming to ₩800K Megastack, the event was played out for two days and it drew in 227 entries, generating ₩158,900,000 in prize pool. Only 40 players made it to Day 2 in this event. The Indian challengers who took part in the event included the young gun – Abhinav Iyer, Adda52 Team pro – Kunal Patni, Sumit Sapra and Zarvan Tumboli, but only Sapra could make it to Day 2 of the event.
While Sapra could not make it to the final table, he managed to finally post the first Indian score at ongoing series. The player ended his journey in the 16th place earning ₩1,985,000 (INR 1,25,551).
Recently this year, Sapra finished 2nd in the ₫7,700,000 NLH– Welcome Event at WPT Vietnam for ₫163,720,000 in September. He then followed up that with a 3rd-place finish in the ₫30,000,000 + 3,000,000 NLH – High Roller at APL Vietnam in November for ₫849,230,000 in prizemoney.
Outlasting the field in this event to win his first-ever PokerStars LIVE title was Bin Sun who beat Junhao Hong in heads-up to take home ₩28,000,000. The latter earned ₩36,350,000 for his efforts.
