Cary Katz Takes Down PCA Highroller 2018 for $1,492,340pca 3

The Bahamas, which is one of the world’s top tourist spots, is now playing host to the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) which began on 6th January and will run through January 14th, 2018.

One of the key attraction of the PCA was the $100,000 Buy-in SuperHighroller NLH which wrapped up successfully this week with the American poker player and businessman Cary Katz winning the title for a whopping $1,492,340 after beating a tough field of 48 entries.

“I won some high rollers before but this is definitely the most prestigious one so I’m very proud of it,” said Katz.

For the 47 year old Cary Katz, it was a great start to the New Year, as he shipped the high roller tournament for a massive amount of $1,492,340. With this win, Katz has taken his career live poker earnings to nearly $13.7 million,  entering the list of the top 30 all-time money players. This win was his first major victory outside Las Vegas, although he has won several ARIA Super High Rollers.

All eyes were on Kenney who held a massive chip lead when the event came to the final three, but Katz won a couple of big hands to extend his chip stack. After Kenney was out in the 3rd place, Katz went into heads-up with Justin Bonomo. The final hand of the heads-up saw Katz’s pocket eights (8-8) beating Bonomo’s A-K. Katz became the 3rd American player to win the PCA high roller title after the well-known player Jason Kloon winning it in 2017 and Bryn Kenney winning the title in 2016.

Final Table Payouts:

Cary Katz – $1,492,340

Justin Bonomo – $1,077,800

Bryn Kenney – $686,960

Daniel Negreanu – $521,140

Ivan Luca – $402,700

Ike Haxton – $307, 940

Sam Greenwood – $248,720
