Sankalp Taparia Leads 54 Survivors in Adda52’s Poker Mania Day 1A

The much-awaited online poker tournament – ‘Poker Mania’ has finally kicked off on India’s No. 1 Poker Site – Adda52. Scheduled between 20^th to 26^th May 2019, the super-value tournament saw its first starting flight – Day 1A end yesterday. The biggest online event ever hosted with INR 50 Lac GTD at just INR 1,000 buy-in saw a modest turnout of 494 entries, including 180 re-entries on the day.

Day 1A of Poker Mania started at 8 pm yesterday evening. With a total of 494 entries, the prizepool has reached INR 3,69,459. With 5 more starting days to go, the tournament may easily smash its INR 50 Lac guarantee as we expect massive fields especially across flights on Friday and Saturday ahead.

Following 28 levels of play, the field of 494 came down to 54 players progressing to final day of the tournament, scheduled on 26^th May. Sankalp Taparia aka ‘sankalptaparia’ emerged as the chip leader of the first starting flight with a stack of 468,732 and was the only player to cross the 4 lac-mark in chips. Following him in the 2nd place was ‘aman0205 ’ with a decent stack of 388,098.

We got in touch with the chip leader Sankalp Taparia after Day 1A of the tournament ended and he had this to say, “It surely feels good to be the chip leader in this tournament on Adda52. However, as they say, each day is a new day and you can never predict the next set of cards dealt to you in poker.”

Day 1A  saw several notables in action and some of them to qualify for the final day of the event were Adda52 Team Pro Tarun Goyal aka ‘aggtarun’ (11^th in chips – 209, 635) and Abhishek Garg aka ‘thegrinder’ (18th in chips – 167,014) who ended the day among the top 18 stacks.

The 2^nd starting day – Day 1B will begin today at 8 pm on Adda52 and a good turnout with top pros, regs and recreational players is expected. Players who have already qualified from Day 1A can also join Day 1B and other starting days in a bid to take forward a better stack for the Final Day.
