SCOOP: “Alexgirs” Wins Main Event High; Mateos & O’Dwyer Also Among Title Winners!

It was yet another action-packed day at the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) with three Main Events crowning their champions. The biggest of the three events, Event #74 High:$10,300 NLHE Main Event resulted in a victory for Belarus’ “alexgirs” who topped a star-studded final table to bank $920,596 in a total field of 609 entries. The eventual winner “Alexgirs” struck a deal with Brazil’s Pablo “pabritz” Brito ( runner-up for $764,942) and Canada’s  Alex “dynoalot” Difelice (3rd for $722,075), both of whom took a big slice of the $6,090,000 prize pool.

Event #74-M: $1,050 NLHE Main Event

The Medium and Low Main Events also played down to a champion. Brazil’s Joao ‘HayashiJoão’ Hayashi beat Michael ‘merla888’ Gathy heads-up to take home a huge score of $920,067 for his victory in Event #74-Medium: $1,050 NLHE Main Event. The runner-up Gathy settled for $655,853.

It is worth a mention that this Main Event had the biggest turnout in their history, beating the 2018 record of a 5,508-player field as a whopping 6,475 entries showed up to create $6,475,000 prizepool.

The Low Main Event also ended in a three-way deal. It was Latvia’s ‘auercan‘ who shipped the title after a deal with ‘UruRey’ (2nd for $323,656) and ‘penguy2’ (3rd for $270,143). ‘auercan‘ claimed the top prize of $371,750 for besting a whopping 46,238 entries that created a prize pool of $4,623,800.

Meanwhile, Steve ‘Mr. Tim Caum’ O’Dwyer topped a field of 105 entries for winning Event #79-High: $10,300 NLHE High Roller to bank $241,956 in top prize. The runner-up Juan ‘Malaka$tyle’ Pardo banked $185,765, while Brunno ‘botteonpoker’ Botteon exited in third place for $142,624 prize.

A pair of former #1-ranked GPI players also claimed SCOOP wins and added a six-figure score to their bankroll. Spanish poker phenom Adrian ‘Amadi_017’ Mateos topped a strong field of 937 entries in Event #79 Medium: $1,050 NLHE Super Tuesday SE to earn $164,397 and his second scoop title.

The runner-up Bernardo ‘Machadada RS’ Rocha of Brazil fell one spot short of the title. He also claimed a six figure score of $118,812 for finishing runner-up in the super tournament.
