After the successful Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) earlier this month in Goa, it is time for the 2nd edition of DPT Xpress (DPTX) at Delta Corp’s stunning casino – Deltin Denzong, Sikkim. Powered by Adda52, the much-awaited festival kicks off on 14th March and will run till 17th March 2019.

The upcoming DPT Xpress is a 4-day action-packed series that offers something for everyone with 4 exciting poker tournaments – 5k Burn ‘n’ Turn (Re-entry/A) ft. #OneTime (14th March), 15K Main Event with two re-entries (15th & 16th March), 10K Bounty (16th March) and finally 5k + 5k Tag team event (17th March). The series buy-in is just INR 35K and hence it is going to be a perfect platform for the low as well as mid-stakes players to come and test their skills at the live felts in Sikkim.

With the DPT Xpress being around the corner, OPN decided to speak to Delta Corp’s Business Head Poker – Manish J. Adnani to dig deeper into the much-awaited event. Manish is the man who runs the whole DPT show. He and his team put on a fabulous spectacle for the poker community with the successful first edition of the DPT Xpress last year. As a Business Head Poker, Adnani was at the heart of it all. The efforts, thinking and energy he and his team had put in was commendable. Let us check out what details and information Manish has to share about the upcoming DPT Xpress series.

OPN: Hi Manish, please tell us about the DPT Xpress starting 14th March 2019 in Sikkim.

Adnani: DPT X with its second edition is all set to hit Deltin Denzong again this March. The format is predominantly turboish. However, we have made some welcome changes to the structures post the feedback from the last edition. Expecting a larger turnout post the first edition with satellites being introduced by Adda52.com and Adda52Live Poker room at Deltin Royale. We will also be live-streaming the Final Tables on YouTube. As always, Sikkim offers crisp flora and fauna packed in with the gaming and we hope players enjoy this diverse mix and experience.

OPN: Going back, would you like to share some salient features of the previous edition?

Adnani: The events were designed for a specific player segment and we are pleased that it has rolled out and been appreciated by the poker community. We continue to build on the basic framework introduced last year and evolve with every progressive series.

OPN: Why did you choose these dates to host the event in this fascinating location?

Adnani: It fits in with our calendar primarily and its a great time of the year to be in Sikkim and experience the receding winter season.

OPN: What tournament players can expect from the upcoming DPTX edition?

Adnani: All the event structures have been tweaked and are less turbo compared to the previous edition. We have introduced #ONETIME in the Burn ‘N’ Turn event, which is your chance to RIT (Run It Twice ) only once. Shot clocks will be introduced in the Main Event for a faster game play with some welcome changes in the overall structure. This time, we will be streaming 3 events on Youtube.

OPN: What cash game action can players expect during the event?

Adnani: We are optimistic that cash game action will be better this time around as we are expecting a larger field.

OPN: What about accommodation?

Adnani: Our ‘Stay N Play Package’ gives players who play all events and offer 20 hours of cash action a chance to enjoy free accommodation and transfers on twin sharing basis.

OPN: How do players register or qualify for the event?

Adnani: We have a Pre- Registration Link which players can access HERE. Players can also call the Adda52Live Poker rooms and register with our GRE’s. They can also register on Adda52Live.com.

OPN: What about action out of the felt?

Adnani: Gangtok offers great food, excursions to natural wonders of the world, and some great ethnic shopping. All in all, it’s a great mix of Gaming and Nature, which I do believe players will thoroughly enjoy.

OPN: How many people will you be expecting to attend?

Adnani: Optimistically, we are expecting around 70 – 80 players for this edition.
