The World Series of Poker Announces the Full & Final Schedule for the WSOP 2017

After releasing its partial schedule early this month, the World Series of Poker has announced its final schedule for the WSOP 2017. The 48th WSOP edition will take place from May 30 to July 17, 2017 at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The series will feature a total of 74 gold-bracelet events ranging from low buy-in $333 event to high buy-in $111,111 for the No-Limit Hold’em for One Drop. Start times for the most events of the series will be at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., as they were in 2016.2017WSOPfeat

The 48th edition of 2017 WSOP features regular as well as some new events, providing something for everyone. “The focus of the schedule remains squarely on two core principles: the biggest prize pools possible and diversity in offerings to provide something for everyone,” said Jack Effel, the WSOP’s Tournament Director. “The 48th running of the globe’s biggest poker series promises to deliver on these core principles and ensure another action-packed summer at the Rio. Regular Events

The something-for-everyone schedule will include various gold bracelet events, satellites, cash games and 3 times daily deep stack tournaments running for 49 consecutive days. The WSOP, however, will reach its pinnacle point on Monday, July 17, 2017 with its $10,000 Main Event, which will have three starting flights July 8, July 9 and July 10 with a starting stack of 50K chips and each level of 2 hours.  Qui Nguyen from America was the 2016 Main Event winner, after crushing a massive field of 6,737.

Among other regular events, the 2017 WSOP schedule will feature the Millionaire Maker (June 10 – June 11), the Little One for One Drop No-Limit Hold’em (July 11 – July 13), Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship and Super Seniors No-Limit Hold’em (June 16, June 18), Monster Stack (June 24 – June 25), and the Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Championship (July 7).

 

8 Brand New Events

This time, the WSOP will also feature 8 new events as its strategy to give something for everyone and increase the participation in the series. 8 brand new events added to the schedule include:

 

  1. A $10,000 tag team no-limit hold’em event which allows 2-4 person teams put up the buy-in together and also switch out who plays the team’s chips throughout the 3-day event. (May 31)
  1. A $333 WSOP.com online NLH event featuring $333,333 in guaranteed prize pool. (Jun. 3)
  1.  “The Giant,” a $365 no-limit hold’em with unlimited re-entries (June 9).Each Friday night at 7 p.m., for five weeks from June 9, a starting flight will kick off. The players who survive will then return on July 8 to play down to a champion.
  1.  “The Marathon,” a $2,620 no-limit hold’em ( June 12) that will have100-minute levels and 26,200 in starting chips. The tournament will be running over five days.
  1.  A $1,000 super turbo bounty no-limit hold’em ( June 20). It will feature 20-minute levels and $300 bounties.
  1. A $10,000 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better championship (June 26).It will run for three days.
  1.  A $2,5000 mixed big-bet event, with NLHE, PLO, 2-7 NL, NL five-card draw, Big O, PLO 8/0B and 2-7 PL triple draw(at 3 p.m on June 30).
  1. A $3,333 WSOP.com online high roller with unlimited re-entries ( at 3:33 p.m. on July 1).

Participation by Indian Poker Players

The number of professional poker players in India has increased and continues to increase in years to come. Last year, many players took to the tables at the WSOP events. Some notable names included Raghav Bansal, Ankit Ahuja, Aditya Agarwal and Aditya Sushant. This year, we look forward to greater participation, as a large Indian contingent is expected to head to Las Vegas.
