WCOOP 2016: Shaun Deeb Wins Record 9th WCOOP Title, Wife Gives Birth to 2nd Baby

No doubt, September 8, 2016 proved a historic day in Shaun Deeb’s life as the online poker super star proved himself once again by winning a record 9th WCOOP Title. This day will remain the biggest in his career because it brought in double celebrations for Deeb. Personally, he became the father for the second time and professionally he won his record 9th title of World Championship of Online Poker.shaun-deeb-wcoop

The story of his victory is amazing. He was between making the most-coveted final table and  winning the latest title of WCOOP when his lovely wife gave birth to a baby boy in the early hours of the morning yesterday. Not only he welcomed his second child into the world, but also broke his own record of having most PokerStars “Coop” titles. Now Deeb has nine biggest titles on his COOP resume.

In 2015, Deeb won the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP)$215 NL Hold’em for eight title and this year again the online poker king repeated the feat by winning WCOOP-12:$1,050 NL Draw Championship for $22,185.60. With this victory in his kitty, he has become the biggest online poker player in the WCOOP fraternity . As with every winner of WCOOP, he received a personally engraved 14 karat gold bracelet from PokerStars in addition to the biggest prize pool money worth $22,185.60.

To earn the online world championship this time, he defeated a strong field of 95 players. The field consisted of 70 players with 25 re-entries. It was really a tough field with some really big names from the poker world including Betrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Dzmitry Urbanovich. The notable player Urbanovich made it to the final top four along with Deeb, thechips55 and OLD TIME GIN, though he was very short of stacks. He soon fell to OLD TIME GIN when his 5’s were not good enough against 6’s of OTG. Soon, OTG took the lead and finally extended his lead when he eliminated thechips55 in third place when he was dealt A 2 3 4 5, a straight that helped him to easily beat thechips55’s K K T T 5.

Meanwhile heads-up play began between Shaun Deeb and his toughest opponent on the table Dzmitry “Colisea” Urbanovich who already won a WCOOP title back in 2014. Deeb had to face a tough battle with his opponent, but his experience, talent and focus helped him to stand firm over the next two hours. He eventually closed out the tournament by crushing OTG’s A♦A♠Q♥6♠2♠ with his diamond flush K♦J♦10♦9♦2♦. Deeb took home $22,185.60. Now his total of 9 COOP Titles is currently unmatched in the world. Congratulations Deeb and good luck for your online poker ventures ahead!
