WSOP 2019: Siddharth Mundada Leads 5 Indians To BIG 50 Day 2B; Vivek Rughani & Dhawal Lachhwani Make Day 3

The Event #3: BIG 50 – $500 No-Limit Hold’em of the 2019 WSOP has already registered 12,000 + entries with 6,000 + entries coming from Day 1A and 6,095 entries registering for Day 1B. With two more starting flights still left to play out, the BIG 50 is well on its way to register a WSOP record field.

Day 1B drew a total of 6,095 and the field came down to just 1,269 runners after 12 levels of play. Among the 1,269 players who advanced to Day 2B, there were 5 Indians and they included WSOP debutant Siddharth Mundada who leads the Indians with 509,000 in chips, 2018 WSOP ME best Indian finisher Nishant Sharma (477,000), Romit Advani (343,000), WSOP first-timer Ronak Vyas (232,000) and India’s first female poker player Muskan Sethi who ended the day with 145,000.

Other Indians including Dhaval Mudgal, Avneesh Munjal and Jagdeep Singh were also seen in action on Day 1B but they failed to advance to Day 2B. Matthew Keegan ended Day 1B as chip leader with a massive stack of 902,000. He was followed by Alexander Kartveli (892,000), Glenn Swanlund (869,000), Corel Theuma (849,000), Chiajung Liu (846,000) and Vincent Meli (839,000).

Keegan leads the 1,269 survivors to Day 2B. All remaining players will return tonight for Day 2B play to continue their battle for the WSOP bracelet and a whopping $1 million guaranteed for the winner.

BIG 50 – $500 No-Limit Hold’em – Day 2A

A total of 1,580 players returned for Day 2A and only 410 players remained in the field after 7 levels of play. From India, a total of 9 players had made it to Day 2A and they were Vivek Rughani (487,000), Paawan Bansal (342,000), Abhinav Iyer (298,000), Adda52 Team Pro Kunal Patni (265,000), Deepak Bothra (232,000), Sriharsha Doddapaneni (219,000), Dhawal Lachhwani (94,000), Nipun Java (87,000), and Aman Kejriwal (56,000). Among the 9 Indians, only Vivek Rughani (1,035,000) and Dhawal Lachhwani (325,000) survived and advanced to Day 3, while Iyer (446th for $1,258), Doddapaneni (505th for $1,130), Nipun Java (603rd for $1,024 ) and Bansal (806th for $800) finished in the money.

At the end of of Day 2A, it was Russia’s Mikhail Vilkov who bagged the chip lead among the 410 survivors with a massive stack of 3,475,000. Joshua Thibodaux (3,215,000) and Amer Torbey (3,025,000) finished second and third on the leaderboard. Day 3 play is scheduled for June 5.
