Outclassing a field of 782 players, French poker player Remi Castaignon won the 2013  PokerStars.fr EPT Deauville Main Event that concluded on 9th Feb 2013. Remi took a prize packet of €770,000 while second placed Lebanese player Walid Bou Habib won €475,000.

The final table comprised of eight players and it was heavily inclined in Lebanon’s odds with 3 players from the Lebanon playing the final. Out of these Jeffrey Hakim was the first to exit when his Ac Kh ran into the pocket aces of Enrico Rudelitz. Hakim won €60,000 and exit within minutes of making the final table.

Remi was the chip leader from the start of the final table itself and the prevalence of many short stacks just made it easier for him to consolidate his position. Noel Gaens of Belgium exit in seventh place and won €87,800 while Lebanon hopeful Joseph El Khoury won €125,000 and exit in sixth spot.

Frank Kalfon of France won €165,000 for his fifth place finish while fourth placed Rudelitz took €215,000. Another Belgian Robert Romeo was third to finish and won €275,000. Next up in EPT events in the London Festival of Events in March with £5300 Main event slated between March 10-16 2013.
