Chino Rheem in Lead of The Remaining Six on Day 5 of 2013 WPT Championship

david_chino_rheem_poker3The World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship has its final six contenders for the title by the end of the fifth day. Chino Rheem, who was the chip leader on the previous day maintained the lead and has increased the gap between him and other players on the final table. The American poker pro is in a very strong position and is favorite to win the championship. Rheem is a regular attendee in the Poker championships from past ten years and is still waiting to win his first major tournament.

Day 5 started with eight remaining players from the previous day. One of the major upset of the day came when famous poker player Daniel Negreanu got busted. The World Series of Poker Asia Pacific’s (WSOP APAC) Main event winner Negreanu, who was struggling on day four finally left the table and finished at seventh place. He lost his final hand to Erick Lindgren. Rocco Palumbo was the other player who got eliminated on fifth day. Palumbo was out of touch and his bad run came to an end when he went up against Brandon Steven. He finished at the bottom at eighth place.

Now the remaining six players will be battling it out to claim the title. With the likes of Matt Hyman, Jonathan Roy and Erick Lindgren among the final six, it would be interesting to see if any of them will be able to outplay Chino Rheem. Lindgren is the only player apart from Rheem who has a chip stack of more than 3 million. Still he is far behind from the leader. The Champion of the tournament will be declared on Friday.
