The 44th annual WSOP event is going on & the excitement will be on till November. Some of the interesting facts about this event are-

  • The WSOP 2013 event will be held from May 29th– July 15th 2013, & the final table of the main event will take place on 4th and 5th Nov. 2013.
  • There will be 62 bracelet events and the bracelets will be designed by Jason of Beverly Hills.
  • Beside this, 13 more bracelets are also designed; out of which five bracelets have been given  to the WSOP National Champion Jonathan Hilton & other winners of WSOP Asia-Pacific event at New Orleans. The remaining bracelets will be given at WSOP Europe, Paris (12th Oct. -25th Oct.)
  • The tournament is expected to have more than 75,000 entries this year. That’s why the tournament is organized at Rio’s large & luxurious poker tables (480 poker tables) that are spread across the Amazon, Brasilia, and Pavilion Rooms.
  • This year, the buy-in ranges from a minimum of $500 for “Casino Employees Event” & $111,111 for “One Drop High Roller event”.
  • It is for the first time in the history of WSOP that a six-figure amount i.e. $111,111 is announced as a buy-in amount for any bracelet events.
  • Just like its previous tournaments, the “One Drop High Roller” tournament is also dedicated to a noble cause as an amount of $107,778 of the buy-in will be added to the prize pool, whereas the remaining $3,333 will be given to the WSOP’s official charity, One Drop.
  • The $1,111 buy-in event will be a tournament where unlimited re-entry will be allowed & it will take place from 3rd- 6th July 2013. An amount of $111 from each buy-in will go to the “One Drop”.
  • The $1,500 buy-in single re-entry event is going to be held from 1st-3rd June 2013. Day 1 will start its flight at 11am and 5pm. This tournament allows players to buy in once during each flight. It offers two starting flights and a guaranteed first place payday of $1 million.
  • This year, the excitement in the poker rooms of Brasilia, is going to be twice as WSOP is going to honor all the latest WSOP gold bracelet winners on the rhythm of their respective national anthems in the first break of the noon events. 
  • This year, the race for The WSOP Player of the Year is going to be more competitive & interesting as both WSOP APAC and WSOPE are going to count the point standings. The updated standing count of the contest are available on WSOP.com.
  • The Player of the Year (WSOP POY 2013) will get a direct entry to the WSOP APAC, WSOP, and WSOP Europe Main Events of 2014.
  • After a glorious victory at the APAC Main Event, Daniel Negreanu has emerged as the only strongest contender for the POY award till now.  If he would succeed in maintaining this position then he could be the first ever player to win the same honor twice.
  • Not only this, WSOP is all set to burn the floor with its “Daily Deepstacks” tournament in the Pavilion Room which will feature three events a day at 3pm ($235 buy-in), 6pm ($185 buy-in), and 10pm ($135 buy-in) respectively. You can get to know more about it at the official website of WSOP. 
  • The most popular poker magazine “BLUFF Magazine” is organizing a “Deepstack : Player of the Series” contest  which will track the Daily Deepstacks results.  The winner will be given a direct entry seat in the 2013 WSOP Main Event.
  • The Pavilion Rooms are also going to host a 21-event poker series where the buy-in ranges from $365 to $5,000. This Carnivale of Poker features a $1,675 buy-in Main Event on Thursday July 11th. It will be held nearly every Monday & Tuesday.
  • Apart from the prize pool, this poker carnival will reward additional prize money of $100,000 to the top ten runner-ups of the series. 
  • Not only this, the most talked about events of the poker Carnival will be the $5,000 Open Face Chinese tournament that will take place on Saturday, July 13th.  The intricacy of the game lies in its unique format which will surely draw some of the biggest names in the game.
