Benny Chen gets Canada a second 2013 WSOP Bracelet

When WSOP 2013 started, Benny Chen was barely a restaurant manager from Canada with career earnings of only $300,000 but as Event #6 ended, Chen has the WSOP Bracelet wrapped around his wrist and his earnings have inflated to $1.4 Million. The much hyped about ‘Millionaire Maker‘ Event with more than 6000 entrants was captured by Benny Chen after leading the final table. This is the second WSOP Bracelet that is going to a Canadian poker player after Charles Sylvestre won Event #3. 

Michael Bennington finished second and won $741,902. Jonathan Gray was third while Justin Liberto finished fourth after a tough day. The Millionaire Maker Event with a buy-in of $1500 attracted a huge response from poker players and in many terms turned out more enthusiasm than the Main Event also.

In Event #7, Mathew Waxman made the news by winning his first WSOP Bracelet. He became richer by $300,000 after conquering the $1000 NL Hold’em event defeating former Bracelet winner Eric Baldwin. The two poker players had a six hour battle heads up and played out more than 200 hands before Waxman reigned supreme.Jess Dioquino was third while Amit Makhija who led the unofficial final table of 10 had to be content with fourth place.

In Event #8, $2500 Eight Game Mix, Michael Malm topped the table to take the WSOP Bracelet and a $225,000 prize money. The event that lasted for 3 days saw tough competition from poker players like Robert Mizrachi, Josh Arieh, Greg Mueller and Mike Wattel. Steven Wolansky was second and won $139,034 while third placed Mueller won $89,000.
