Day 33 of WSOP: Steve Sung and Kirsten Bicknell wins Bracelets

Steve sungSteven Sung has created history on Sunday by winning the $25,000 Six-max No Limit Hold’em event at World Series of Poker (WSOP). Event#52 attracted 175 players on its first day which includes some of the most famous players from poker fraternity. Sung not only received his first WSOP bracelet but also grabbed a huge prize money of $1,205,324. Some of the most talented players were present on the final table and after a grueling day poker the champion defeated seasoned poker player Phil Galfond in battle heads-up to grab the title.

Some famous player which were present on the final day but were not able to make it to the final table includes David “Bakes” Baker, David Benyamine, Christian Harder, Jeff Gross and Marvin Rettenmaier. And with the elimination of Shannon Shorr, the finalists of event#52 were there on the final table.

After eliminating the other four players, Galfond and Sung went into the battle heads-up. Sung who was behind Galfond, climbed up gradually and for the final hand his J-10 defeated runner-up’s K-Q.

Event#51: $10,000 Ladies No Limit Hold’em Championship

In an exclusive event for ladies, Kristen Bicknell has grabbed the title of Event#51: $10,000 ladies No Limit Hold’em Championship. With her win Bicknell has also increased the number of bracelets won by Canadians in ongoing World Series of Poker (WSOP). After the first day, only nine finalists returned on the final day of the event.

The first elimination came just after 17 hands of play when Cindy kerslake got busted. After first elimination the game got stable and next elimination came after three hours. This elimination of Chris Priday started a chain reaction and players got eliminated one after another. For battle heads up, Bicknell faced Leanne Haas. After busting her for runner-ups place, the Canadian grabbed her first WSOP Bracelet.
