APPT8 Macau takes off, Indian Mahipal Singh cashes

Asia Pacific Poker Tour(APPT) 8 Macau got off to a good start as 4 side events were concluded where Indian poker player Mahipal Singh cashed in 27th place for HKD 2300 in the $150NLHE event. Other Indians playing at APPT8 include Aditya Agarwal, Apoorva Goel, Amit Ajwani and Akash Malik.

In the first side event of APPT8 Macau, China’s Jixue Yin defeated a 132-player field in the HK $1,500 KO Bounty to take HKD 33,600 and his second title of the season. This victory over 132 runners also won him valuable APPT Player of the Year(POY) points to send him to No 5 in the rankings. Event 2 was $1500 Deepstack NLHe in which Mahipal Singh cashed was won by Singaporean Eric Teck Hwee for HKD 70,000. This event drew 230 entrants out of which 28 finished ITM.

Event 3 saw a great response as the new HK $5,000 APPT Macau Warm-up event had 308 players creating a prize pool of HKD 1,344,250. This was won by Vincent Kohne of Germany taking home more than $308,000 for his top finish. This was a 2 day event where the top 38 finishers cashed ITM.Â

In Event 4 on Sunday, Mikal Blomlie of Norway topped a field of over 100 runners to cash HKD 96,000 in the $5000 PLO. The Main Event starts flight on May 21st.Â
