Ivan Soshnikov wins PokerStars SCOOP Main Event, Britons dominate FT

scoopThe might of the Russians prevailed yet again in the online poker world of PokerStars as Ivan ‘vandir4rek’ Soshnikov won the Spring Championship of Online Poker(SCOOP) $10,000 + $300 Main Event which concluded here today. While he won a gigantic $1,048,000 for his top finish, it marked a final table dominated by Britons with 4 poker players from the United Kingdom taking 2nd-5th places.

Soshnikov was the last man standing from the 657 entrants after he defeated Peter “Se7enTr3y” Akery in heads up action. This is for sure the biggest win and cash won by Soshnikov in a tourney.

Day 2 saw 60 remaining players with some big names returning for the online action. Mike “Timex” McDonald (34th – $29,565), Phil “RaiseOnce” Ivey (32nd – $29,565), Dan “mrGR33N13” Colman (31st – $29,565), Keven “Stammdogg” Stammen (30th – $29,565) and Shannon “baseba1b” Shorr (28th – $29,565) were notables who fell early on Day 2. Others who fell very close to the FT include  Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich (16th – $49,275), Sam “Str8$$$Homey” Greenwood (15th – $62,415), Rens “Rens02” Feenstra (13th – $62,415) and Reed “calBears123” Goodmiller.

Running alongside the $10,300 High Main Event on Monday were the $1,050 Medium and $109 Low variants. More than $6 million awarded across the two events where LexaLucky666 won the former taking home $635,000 and Ari Engel won the latter event cashing $187,669.
