GPI uses some unique formula to calculate the results and on every Thursday it updates its Leader Board with top 300 Poker performers of the world.

Vanessa Selbst, another top perform of World Series of Poker, who once acquired the top most position of GPI ranking, has gained fame once again as she rejoins the GPI Leader Board after 11-weeks by acquiring the 10th position. Selbst was the only women who gained the #1 position in GPI this summer after her third gold bracelet victory at 45th World Series of Poker. The return of Selbst kicked out Olivier Busquet from 10th position, who has made his debut at GPI just a few weeks ago, but failed to remain at top 10.

However, the French player Miroslav Alilovic has raised his ranking from 246 to 167 after acquiring second position in the High Roller event at FPS Sunfest Cannes. Apart from this many more such players are swimming upstream this week in GPI including Fabrice Soulier (GPI#100, +29), and Antonio Esfandiari (GPI#195, +28).

On one hand where 2014 has been so kind for few, some have climbed down the staircases of GPI ranking as well like Timothy Adams. Timothyswam downstream by 129 points losing his #166 position and coming down to #295. Accompanying him, the duo of ladies Kitty Kuo (GPI#257, -53) and Maria Ho (GPI#237, -41) as well saw the real bad side of their GPI ranking. This list of people swimming downside in GPI ranking is not completed until we mention WSOP bracelet winner Craig McCorkell (GPI#258, -52).
