Poker has always been at the forefront of sports and gaming world attending to the noble causes across the globe. Several corporate houses host charity poker events wherein the money in the pot is donated for restoring social needs or uplifting lives in remotest corner of the world. Continuing the efforts, Microsoft is organizing a charity poker event in its office at Los Angeles on 11th October which will see a pool of celebrities coming in to play and raise money to provide clean water in West Africa.

The tournament which features a $75 buy-in game with rebuys of $25 is also open for spectators with a $25 ticket for general admission and $50 ticket for VIP seats. Every penny collected from the entry-fee to game or viewer lobby will be donated to the Peace Fund working for betterment of lives while the winner will walk away with a $5,000 ticket to World Series of Poker 2015 event.

Charity Poker has picked up in a remarkable way addressing various social concerns and poker pros have blissfully participated in such events to pay their part in good cause. There are many online poker events which facilitate poker players join the cause from any corner of the world.

In a similar effort to help the humanity, adda52.com, the largest online poker site in India held a tournament last year to help the victims of flood in Uttarakhand. The poker players required submitting their locality points which they earn by playing on this site and everyone doing so was given a ticket to the poker tourney wherein 25K stood the prize money.
