Ole Schemion reigns atop GPI Rankings

German star Ole Schemion reigns at the top of the GPI Rankings for fourth consecutive week. Though he cashed in the Main Event at the PCA, he lost 50 points in rankings as his three results from 2014 PCA entered a third aging period. This week saw many movements in the GPI Top 10 Rankings. Schemion still holds a 505 point lead at the top.

The seventh place finish in the PCA Main Event backed Pratyush Buddiga (GPI#2 CB, +6) to move ahead Davidi Kitai (GPI#3, -1) at a career-high #2 rank. Ami Barer (GPI#7, -4) and Daniel Colman (GPI#9, -5), the online poker legends who turned live tournament circuit stars had a fall inside the Top 10 while Daniel Negreanu (GPI#8, +39) and Olivier Busquet (GPI#10, +24) made a key return to the lead group. This week was unfortunate for two players Jake Schindler (GPI#14, -7) and Joseph Cheong (GPI#17, -7) who made their way out of the Top 10.

On every Thursday, GPI (Global Poker Index) releases a list of top 300 Poker tournament players. To dwell this list of top Poker performers of the World, GPI maintains a Poker Index point system and uses special formula. Through this leader-board, GPI as well announces Player of the Year.

Justin Bonomo (GPI#86, +113) makes a return to the Top 100 for the first time since December. The credit goes to his side event victory at the PCA, and final table reach at a 5K No-Limit Hold’em event at the PCA. Prior to making his way to the Bahamas, The former World #12 had not played in a single tournament since the WSOP 2014. Former World Top 10 Igor Kurganov (GPI#98, +120), Simeon Naydenov (GPI#105, +105), 2014 PCA finalist Shyam Srinivasan (GPI#127, +102) and Dylan Linde (GPI#53 CB, +79) made notables moves inside the GPI300.

2014 PCA Champion Dominik Panka (GPI#267, -96) had a strategic fall inside the 300 as the points entered a new ageing period. His recent fall will continue further as his High Roller victory at EPT Deauville will also fall into ageing period #3. With her 2014 PCA successes entering the ageing period, former World #1 Vanessa Selbst (GPI#103, -74) also drops down to her lowest ranking of her career on the live tournament circuit.
