The Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) Platinum Series kicked off on February 3 at the ‘PokerStars LIVE casino in the City of Dreams Macau and will run till February 8. This year again, the tournament will feature the HK$5,500 Main Event which comes with a HK$500,000 guarantee. The Opening event saw Indian Abhishek Kumar finishing second as Chen Zhen Liu lifted the title.
In 2014, the Main Event saw average participation of 265 players and the four Platinum Series had over 2,700 players in total. The last year’s numbers will surpass in 2015 with the expanded six-day schedule which includes 6 Official Asia Players of the Year events including the exciting addition of the HK$10,000 NLH tournament.
The Opening Event 1: HK$ 2,000 Deepstack No Limit Holdem drew 122 players and more than HK$200,000 in prize money. After hours of play, it was Taiwan’s Chen Zhen Liu who won the opener $2,000 Deepstack NLH.
The players who will make to the Top Ten in Platinum Series Main Event will qualify for the ACOP: Platinum Series Playoff on October 18, 2015 where players can win a HK$100,000 Main Event entry into the 2015 Asia Championship of Poker for a chance at life-changing money!
