A historic season of the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) Feb’ 2017 wrapped up with its15K 6-Max PLO event on 27th Feb 2017 at Deltin Royale- India’s most luxurious casino, Goa. The 5-day series was a big success and saw outstanding turnouts and massive prize pools being awarded across the five days. The festival saw a record number of 1,264 entries with the Main Event drawing 303 entries to surpass the Rs.55 lac guarantee. After an exciting season has ended, it is now time to announce the DPT Leaderboard Feb’ 2017, which had Rs. 5 lacs in prize money for the top performing players.
The DPT Leaderboard Feb’ 2017 aimed to award top 10 players for their top-notch performances through various DPT tournaments held from 23rd -27th Feb at Deltin Royale last month. The man who has topped the Leaderboard is a newcomer Imran Khan from Delhi. He has earned 238 LB points for his splendid performance to clinch the ‘DPT Player of the Series’ title and win Rs.150,000 in prize money. Imran, primarily an online player from Delhi who was playing his first live poker tournament, has won the DPT Main Event for Rs. 2,835,000 after outlasting a huge field of 303 entries. Another poker player who has impressed is the big winner Manoj Pentakota. He has won the DPT High Roller event for Rs. 3,300,000- the largest payout of the Deltin Poker Tournament Feb’2017. This is a big victory for Manoj, who made a 6th place finish at the WPT National Cambodia early this year. Manoj has secured 222 LB points for his stellar performance to climb up and finally finish as a runner-up on the DPT Leaderboard, earning Rs.90,000 in the prize money for himself.
The highest turnout at the DPT was witnessed at the 10K Kickoff event with a booming 355 entries, which easily doubled up Rs.15 Lacs guarantee. It was nothing short of a blazing start for the DPT Feb’2017 with the first trophy and the first prize of Rs. 885,000 going to Jasven Saigal, a well-known pro from Mumbai. Jasven has earned 188 LB points for his amazing performance through the series to come 3rd on the DPT Leaderboard Feb’ 2017 and eventually win Rs. 60,000 in prize money.
Following Jasven on the DPT leaderbaord are Ratul Bhat on the 4th position with 169 LB points, and Neelabh Baranga on the 5th spot with 168 LB points. Sitting on the bottom, however, include Hitesh Shah on the 9th spot with 139 LB points and Monish Kumar on the 10th position with 137 LB points.
