Jay Lee Claims WPT Choctaw Title for $593,173 ;Nick Schulman Wins 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open High Roller for $440,000

Working as a Chinese food delivery driver in his hometown of Austin, Texas, Lee had just $10,000 in cashes but all that changed in a few hours when he topped a huge field of 924 runners at the WPT Choctaw $3,700 Main Event to emerge the champion, taking home $593,173 in prize money. Lee defeated James “Jeb” Hutton in heads-up to win the Season XVI WPT Choctaw Main Event. Expressing his feelings about his grand win at the event, Lee said, “It’s amazing,” Lee said after the win, struggling to find words in the moment. “Amazing… Cooler hands, after cooler hands, but you know it’s a great feeling. A lot of ups and downs, and a lot of happy at the end. I’m glad I did it.”

Lee entered heads-up play against Hutton after he eliminated Josh Kay in third place. Entering heads-up play, Lee held 16.65 million in chips against his rival Hutton’s 10.95 million. The final hand of the tournament saw Hutton raising to 550,000 which Lee called. The flop came Jd-4d-4c, which was checked around by both players. The turn was 7s, which was again checked around and the river 9d fell on the board. On the river, Lee, holding Jh-4h for a flopped full house, three-bet around 2,000,000 to get Hutton all-in. Hutton finally made the call with Qd-2d for a flush and ended up as runner-up.

 Nick Schulman Wins Super High Roller For $440,000 at 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open

 Popular poker commentator, Nick Schulman won the coveted $50,000 Super High Roller title at the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. With this grand win, he showed the world that he is as good on the table as he is with his words in the commentary box. The New Yorker player added yet another feather in his cap. His previous achievement date back to when he was just 21 years old. Back then, he became the youngest player to claim a World Poker Tour title at the time. The two-time WSOP bracelet winner clinched his first gold in 2009 and second gold in 2012, both in No Limit 2-7 Lowball.

Schulman bested the 19-entry field at the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $50,000 Super High Roller NLHE Event for a $440,000 payday. Now he has over $8.9 million in lifetime live earnings. Schulman dominated early levels of the game and entered the final table as the chip leader.

After the well-known poker face Rainer Kempe got eliminated in third place, Schulman started the heads-up match trailing in chips and became a short stack several times but he pulled off some double ups. Soon, he announced him all with Ad-5h to 120,000 raised by Schindler. Schindler thought for a while and called with his Kc-10c. The board ran out 7d-7c-3h-8s-As to give Schulman Ace to win.
