Poker Ranking Update January 2018: Top 10 Indian Players In GPI And PocketFives

This month in GPI poker rankingS, the first position is still held by Nipun Java, who is originally from New Delhi and lives in the US. Adda52 Team Pro- Kunal Patni has taken a leap and moved up to the 2nd place. On PocketFives India rankings, it is Raghav Bansal (riverrag) from Delhi who tops the chart. Here is a quick look at the top players in GPI India and PocketFives India rankings in January 2018:

GPI India Ranking

In Global Poker Index (GPI) India rankings, Nipun Java leads the way with 2,089.75 points. Originally from Delhi, Java who won the two WSOP bracelets in 2017 is an acclaimed international player with $270,509 in his best live cash and $2,213,114 in live earnings. His latest cash AU$17,035 came on 22nd January 2018 when he finished 5th in the Pot Limit Omaha (Event #4) at 2018 Aussie Millions.godfather

Java is followed by the Adda52 Team Pro- Kunal Patni holding 1,455.84 points on 2nd place. Hailing from Mumbai, Patni who holds $350,908 in live earnings has been enjoying a great run this year. Recently, he made several final table finishes, including his runner-up in the WPT DeepStacks Berlin Main Event, which gave his best cash $115,819. Following Patni is Raghav Bansal from Delhi in the 3rd place with 1,271.65 points. Following Bansal on the 4th place is another well-known Delhite Sumit Sapra who holds 1,177.93 points. Sapra is being chased by Aditya Sushant from Chennai who along with Nipun Java won $1,000 Tag Team event in 2017 to clinch the first WSOP bracelet. His most recent cash was INR 765,000, which he won for his 1st place finish in the Main Event at December 2017 Baadash Gaming Live Tournament in Goa. Chasing these players in GPI include Tarun Ravi (6th place), Paawan Bansal (7th place), Aditya Agarwal (8th place), Ankit Ahuja (9th place) and Vikram Kumar (10th place). The Adda52 Team Pro- Amit Jain and Zarvan Tumboli hold 11th and 12th places.

In PocketFives India rankings, it is New Delhi’s Raghav Bansal (riverrag) who tops the chart with 3,651 points. Raghav is one of the most respected poker players in India and holds around $393,680 in online earnings. His latest cash came on 28th Jan 2018 when he won $395 in the PokerStars Bigger $215, $100K Gtd event. Before this, he won $3,235.25 for his 22nd place in the PokerStars $215 SUNDAY MILLION, $1,000,000 Gtd – PSPC Sunday Tournament.raghav

Raghav is followed by arsenicistheansr who holds $843,951 in total lifetime cashes. Sitting on the 3rd place is ‘armaan007’ from New Delhi. The 4th and 5th places are held by Shravan Chhabria (shravanc13) from Maharashtra and Sharad Rao (keenyle) from Karnataka. Shravan who holds $326,019 in online earnings recently won $1,233.17 for 80th place in the PokerStars $215 SUNDAY MILLION, $1,000,000 Gtd – PSPC Sunday Tournament, while Sharad who has over $395,974 in online earnings won his biggest cash $121,949 in the PokerStars $215 SUNDAY MILLION in June 2017.

The last 5 positions are occupied by $lim$hady19 on 6th place with 1,895 points, BigBlufferAYon 7th position with 1,549 points and SuicideSquad on 8th place with 1,538 points. ‘proFISHnal is sitting on 9th place, while ‘gunner9696’ from Pune is on the 10th spot with 1,399 points. ‘gunner9696’ had several cashes recently, including his $482 cash at PokerStars $82 NLO8 [6-Max, Hyper-Turbo], $3K Gtd.
