‘I Thought I’ll Give It A Try And Boom Like A Boss’: Crazy Leaderboard III Topper Nishant Sharma

The Adda52’s 15 Lac Crazy Leaderboard – III running from 15th to 30th March and featuring 18 crazy tourneys ended on Friday night last week. While there were several players in the race for the title, it was Mumbai’s rising star – Nishant Sharma aka ‘DoJingBULLETS’, who topped this edition of the leaderboard for INR 7.5 Lac in the prizemoney. The last tournament of the leaderboard was the 15 Lac GTD Whale – 6 Max, which took place on Friday and found a champion in none other than the eventual leaderboard topper himself – Nishant Sharma, who won the event for INR 4,27,500.

Nishant Sharma had a fabulous start as he won the two big tourneys – Godfather 2.0 and Whale. After two big wins, Nishant shifted his focus on topping the leaderboard. Fortunately for him, he boomed like a boss and eventually went on to top the March edition of the Crazy Leaderboard.

We caught-up with Nishant Sharma via an online chat and here are the excerpts:

OPN – Please tell us about your journey of playing online and live poker.

Nishant – I’ve been playing poker professionally for the last 2 years. It’s been a smooth ride till now and I’ve enjoyed both live and online. However, the online poker is my bread and butter.

OPN – You have topped the 15 Lac Crazy Leaderboard – III. How does it feel to you?

Nishant – It feels good, especially the timing of it.  Actually, I almost stopped the MTTs (Multi-Table Tournaments) and started playing the PLO cash games, but then Adda52 declared the crazy leaderboard – III and I thought I’ll give it a try and boom like a boss. Fortunately, it came my way in the end!

OPN – Please share some highlights in your journey of winning the crazy leaderboard.

Nishant – I had a perfect start winning Godfather 2.0 and Whale, which carry a lot of points. This shifted my focus to the leaderboard and I aimed to run deep and collect as many points as possible. I had a good lead throughout the journey but had a sweat in the last few days when ‘samarpoker’ who was in the 2nd place made the final table and shipped Judwaa the next day. So, it was basically like whoever makes the final table will win. Fortunately, he busted early and I won the tourney as well as the leaderboard.

OPN – Who do you think were your strongest competitors for the crazy leaderboard?

Nishant – There were a few in the crazy leaderboard top 10, but Danish Shaikh and Sumit Sapra were the toughest competitors. Fortunately for me, everything went as per the plan.

OPN – Your future goals in live and online poker?

Nishant – Well, the next step is the WSOP (World Series of Poker) 2018 and so I am preparing myself for it. Hopefully, we will get a few more WSOP bracelets this time.

OPN – Finally, your take on Adda52 Crazy Tourneys?

Nishant – It was a fun grind and it had no bad impact on my body as I had to grind only 1 tourney a day. Blind structure and all were amazing too. Looking forward to the next edition!
