Big Winners From The Latest partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK

The partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK poker festival debuted at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham in 2017. Partypoker upped the guaranteed prizepool this year for the second edition of the event. The festival that ran from 29th September to 7th October featured 5 tournaments, offering a total of £8.5 million in guaranteed prize money. The festival drew a huge participation, beating a total of £8.5 million GTD and taking total prizepool to over £8.7 million, which was shared by 367 players.

Greek poker player Ioannis Angeolou-Konstas took down the £5-million guaranteed £5,300 buy-in main event, but the latest edition of this major poker festival also had one more big star. The popular poker pro Steve O’Dwyer won not one, but two high roller tournaments, adding two more high roller titles to his already impressive resume. Here are the winners from the series:

 Brandon Sheils – Winner of £1,100 No-Limit Hold’em MILLIONS UK Open (Event #1)

The opening event happening from September 29 to October 3 featured 5 starting flights and 3 more days of play. The event drew 1,009 entries beating the £1 million guarantee and generating a prize pool of £1,009,000. Top 119 finishers shared the prizepool with min-cash of  £2,700.

Local player Brandon Sheils topped the field and earned a first-place prize of £180,000. He emerged as the winner after beating Albania’s Artur Gjoka in the heads-up battle. The latter took home £112,000 for his 2nd place finish. Ireland’s Rory Liffey rounded  the podium for a prize of £75,000.

Ioannis Angelou-Konstas – Winner of £5,300 Main Event (Event #2)

The biggest tournament of the series was the Main Event, which ran from October 1 to October 7. The highlight event drew 1,015 entries. The top 127 players received a payout from the major event with a min-cashes worth £10,300. In the big event, it was Greece’s Ioannis Angelou-Konstas who claimed the title this year for £940,000 payout after striking a deal with his runner-up finisher William Foxen. Foxen locked £720,000 from the series. Antoine Labat finished third for £440,000.

Steve O’Dwyer – Winner of £25,500 High Roller (Event #3)

The first High Roller on the schedule of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK ran from October 1 to October 2. It drew 51 high roller lovers from around the world, generating a prize pool of £1,275,000 and beating £1 million GTD. The money was split in six cashes, the minimum one worth £60,000.

It was Steve O’Dwyer, who won not just this one but one more high roller on the schedule. The player took home £450,000 from this £25,500 buy-in event. Uruguay’s Fabrizio Cataldi finished 2nd for £286,750, while Turkey’s Orpen Kisacikoglu rounded out the podium for £200,000.

Konstantinos Nanos – Winner of £550 No-Limit Hold’em MILLIONS UK Finale (Event #4)

The fourth event was played from October 4 to October 7. The £500,000 guaranteed event drew a field of 833 entries who generated £484,999 in the prize pool. The top 107 players shared the prizepool, lowest one totaling £1,100. Konstantinos Nanos from Greece beat the field to claim the £84,014 first-place prize. Dutchman Pim De Goede finished as runner-up to Nanos taking home a consolation prize of £70,485 for his efforts. Germany’s Mauricio Pais finished third for £40,000.

Steve O’Dwyer – Winner of £10,300 High Roller (Event #5)

The final tournament took place from October 5 to October 7. As many as 105 entries came into it to generate £946,000. The event featured a guaranteed prize pool of £1 million, which was distributed to the top 8 players, with min-cash of £35,000. Winning this High Roller was once again Steve O’Dwyer. The player, who boasts of nearly $24.8 million in live earnings, collected £314,000 for his latest triumph. Italy’s Gianluca Speranza took home £193,000 for finishing as runner-up.
