India’s largest poker site – adda52.com brought up an opportunity to rise and shine in its signature weekly tournament – Adda52 Millions this past Sunday. The 20 Lac guaranteed tournament with INR 11K buy-in drew a modest field of 174 entries with several top pros, regulars and past winners.
You have to be a really strong poker player to emerge the winner in this particular tournament and this past Sunday, it was Anurag Srivastava aka ‘13anurag’ who took down the title for INR 6 Lac.
On his way to the grand victory in this tournament, Anurag beat a tough final table that included the likes of Akshay Nasa aka ‘vibaks’ (runner-up for INR 3,80,000), who recently grabbed headlines for winning Adda52’s Crazy Leaderboard VI and Adda52 Millions ,and one of India’s best MTT players – Danish Shaikh aka ‘King0fMerge’ (3rd place for INR 2,65,000) who has notched up several big scores on adda52.com. Danish made big headlines last year for taking down DOPT High Roller and DOPT Super High Roller events back-to-back. This year also has been good as the player has already won Godfather, Adda52 Millions and Hitman, apart from making ITM finishes almost in all big events.
The final table also had the regular online MTT grinder Rajat Sharma aka ‘Oshoswami’, who has won several tournaments on adda52.com, including Adda52 Millions. He finished 5th for INR 1.5 Lac.
Top 12 players made money in Adda52 Millions. The Crazy Leaderboard III winner and best Indian finisher at 2018 WSOP – Nishant Sharma aka ‘DoJingBULLETS’ exited the event as the final table bubble boy. The other notables who finished in the money included Ragesh Mishra aka ‘ragesh91’ and Adda52 Team Pro – Tarun Goyal aka ‘aggtarun’, who has won several tourneys on adda52.com.
It wasn’t the first win for the Delhi boy Anurag as he recently won The Roar and Beast tourneys on Adda52. He has also made runner-up finishes in all popular tourneys such as Hitman, Whale, Judwaa and Mega Suits, apart from making final table finishes in Adda52 Millions, Sunday Suits, The Roar, etc. We caught up with Anurag after his Adda52 Millions win and here are the excerpts:
OPN: Hi Anurag, a big congratulation! How does it feel to win Adda52 Millions?
Anurag: Thanks! It feels great to win one of the major weekly tournaments. This is my biggest score on Adda52.
OPN: How tough was the field and how was your overall experience in this tourney?
Anurag: Adda52 Millions always attracts a tougher field compared to other tournaments on Adda52. It felt really nice to finally get over a tough field like this.
OPN: It was a tough final table with Akshay Nasa, Danish Shaikh and Rajat Sharma. Please share your FT journey.
Anurag: Yeah, it was a tough final table. Danish for me is the best MTT player in India, Rajat Sharma is also one of the better regs, and Akshay has had a lot of success and is always a tough opponent.
OPN: You beat Akshay Nasa in heads-up. Please share your heads-up experience with him.
Anurag: The heads-up play started with close to even stacks. Akshay Nasa has been winning a lot of tournaments lately and beating him HU wasn’t that easy. It came down to a couple of flips and I was lucky to hold on and overcome a tough competition.
OPN: Finally, what are your plans in online and live poker? What about WPT India next month?
Anurag: For now, it is online poker. However, I will be playing a few WPT India satellites. If I win a seat through a satellite, I will definitely be attending WPT India (13th -19th November 2018).
