South Koreas Jiyoung Kim has emerged victorious in the 2019 WSOP Event #47: $1,000/$10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold’em event, which attracted a massive field of 968 entries and generated $871,200 prizepool, which was shared by top 146 finishers, with min-cashes starting from $1,496.

Kim’s victory in the big event was worth $167,308 in top prizemoney and her first-ever WSOP gold bracelet. To claim her victory, Kim defeated California’s Nancy Matson in a 90-minute long heads-up battle. The runner-up finish for Matson, who was a prior Circuit ring winner, earned an impressive $103,350 in prizemoney. Sandrine Phan from France logged a third-place prize worth $72,821.

Canada’s Stephanie Dao finished fourth for $52,007, Lyly Vo took fifth for $37,654 and the New York player Lexy Gavin finished sixth for $27,643 to round out the Day 4’s final six players.

Kim had entered the final table with the fourth biggest stack. She enjoyed a good run on FT and  eliminated Barbara Blechinger, Raylene Celaya, Lyly Vo, Sandrine Phan and runner-up Nancy Matson to claim her first WSOP win. On the final day of the event this past Sunday, six players returned for the live-streamed finale in this Ladies Event, led by Dao’s 5,420,000 stack. After eliminating Sandrine Phan in 3rd place, Kim moved into heads-up with Matson to battle for the bracelet, with Kim holding 11,600,000 against 7,800,000 held by Matson. The heads-up lasted for about 90 minutes. Kim steadily chipped up and though Matson doubled up once to stay alive, she could not go all the way, eventually finishing runner-up for $103,350. On the last hand of the dual, Matson limped, and Kim raised to 600,000. Matson shoved for 2,910,000 and Kim called. Matson had Kd 8h, while Kim had As 9h. The board ran 7h 7s Qc 10s 3s where Kim’s ace-kicker won the title.
