EPT National Day 1B: UK’s Louis Salter Tops 91 Survivors; India’s Raman Gujral Progresses

One of the most poplar tours – the European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona began on 20th August this week and will be running till 1st September 2019. Yesterday saw the start of its €1,100 EPT National, one of the most-loved tournaments on the tour. Two starting flights have been played out so far, with Dejan Jakovljevic (915,000) emerging chip leader among 185 survivors from Day 1A field of 1,240 entries and Louis Salter (553,000) chip-leading 91 survivors from 1B field of 606 entries.

As for Team India’s progress, the two of our Indians – Joey Saha (556k chips) and Bharath Janardhan (114k chips) advanced from Day 1A. Several Indians were seen taking part in Day 1B as well, including Raman Gujral, Rajat Sharma, Rahul Melwani and others. However, only Raman Gujral among them could progress from the second starting flight. Gujral bagged 255,000 chips to qualify for Day 2 of the event. Already holding two live titles and several runner-up finishes in domestic as well as international tournaments, Gujral will be looking to add one more big score to his resume.

As mentioned, only 91 players survived from Day 1B and leading them was UK’s Louis Salter who amassed 553,000 in chips. Holding $1,389,181 in live earnings, Salter has plenty of cashes and a few big wins to his name. He will be looking to add another big score to his poker resume. He is followed by France’s well-known player Sonny Franco (546,000). Some notables to progress from 1B are Ramon Colillas, Dario Marinelli, Natalie Teh, Josep Galindo, Alexander Lakhov, Artur Rudziankov, etc.
