Sam Greenwood Wins EPT Prague €25,000 Single Day High Roller II for €384,968

Sam Greenwood has won the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller II at the 2019 European Poker Tour Prague festival. This was his third title and 12th FT of the year 2019 for the Canadian poker pro who finished fifth in an earlier €25,000 event this series. He secured €384,968 for the win, which took his live tournament earnings to $21 million. He now sits in 25th place in poker’s all-time money.

Top 9 players made the money , with Ole Schemion going out on the bubble when his AK lost a race againt pocket tens of Steve O’Dwyer. As a result, O’Dwyer took the lead into the final table. Sam Grafton was the second largest stack, while Greenwood had begun FT as the fifth largest stack.

Greenwood scored his first elimination by winning a three-way all-in, with his Ac Jc beating Kd Qd of Danny Tang and Ah 10h of O’Dwyer. With three clubs on the board, Greenwood rivered a flush to win the pot AND Tang got busted in fifth place. A little later, Greenwood then picked up pocket tens and shoved over the top of Jans Arends’ three-bet. Arends called holding Ah Kh. Greenwood hit a set on the turn and kept his lead from there, sending Arends to the rail in fourth place (€163,220).

Later, Sam Grafton picked up pocket sixes and shoved all-in after Steve O’Dwyer’s raise. O’Dwyer snap-called with pocket aces. The board helped neither and Grafton was busted in third place.

With O’Dwyer taking 3,965,000 chips into heads-up play and Greenwood sitting with 2,635,000, both players agreed to a deal that saw Greenwood lock up €384,968, while O’Dwyer secured €411,311 for his runner-up finish. They agreed to flip for the title and Greenwood took it down to win the title.
