Brazil’s Pablo Silva Wins 2020 Irish Poker Open Online Main Event For €462,100!

The Irish Poker Open, which is the longest-running poker festival in Europe, was recently moved online to partypoker to avoid canceling the festival due to safety concerns during the coronavirus outbreak. Running from April 6-12 on partypoker, the series featured several exciting events. The biggest attraction was its €1,100 Main Event that guaranteed €1,000,000. The event pulled in a total of 2,945 across its four starting flights and generated €2,945,000 to nearly triple the guarantee.

In the end, Brazil’s Pablo Silva came out on top of the field to win the title and the top prize of €462,100. This was Silva’s second biggest victory of 2020 as he had won the $5,000,000 guaranteed $10,300 buy-in main event for $1,000,000 in February at the partypoker MILLIONS South America.

A total of 408 finishers made money in the event and some big names among them included the likes of Jeff Gross (359th – €2,209) Davidi Kitai (299th – €2,327), Matthias Eibinger (280th – €2,415), Dan Smith (242nd – €2,503), Sam Greenwood (221st – €2,503), Kristen Bicknell (219th – €2,503), Anatoly Filatov (185th – €2,768), Sam Grafton (147th – €3,622) and Juha Helppi (55th – €6,567).

The final table was a star-studded affair and had the likes of Canadian poker pro Parker ‘tonkaaaaP’ Talbot (7th for €45,648), 2013 EPT Barcelona main event champion Tom Middleton (6th for €65,821), Sihao Zhang who held the chip lead heading into the final day and finally finished 3rd  for €210,723 and Hungarian poker pro Andras Nemeth who eventually ended as runner-up for €325,423 .
