2020 WSOP Online: Kevin Gerhart Wins Second Career Bracelet in Event #20: $500 PLO 6-Handed!

Monday night saw conclusion of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Event #20: $500 PLO 6-Handed that drew an impressive 1,137-entry field and generated a $511,650 prize pool that was eventually shared by top 150 players. After 13 hours of play, it was Ohio native Kevin “therealkg” Gerhart who came out on top to claim the top prize of $97,571.65 and his second bracelet.

Gerhart earned his first gold bracelet last year when he won the 2019 WSOP Event #54: $1,500 Razz for $119,054. It was a career-high live score for Gerhart who has over $600K in live earnings.

Final Table Action

Gerhart began the final table with a massive chip lead, far ahead of Chris “Robotbob47” Moorman  who had the second largest stack. Gerhart started well to further extend his chip lead by busting “Shanmukha” in 6th place. “Shanmukha”, who was the short stack, was ahead on the flop with nines against Gerhart’s threes, but the latter made two pair by the river to eventually bust his opponent.

“Duckmoney420” then eliminated Adam “AdamJ080584” Jones in 5th place after making trip queens to beat tens. Following Jones was then Chris “Robotbob47” Moorman who flopped gutshot straight draw against Gerhart’s two pair but the turn and river did not help him, giving Gerhart the pot.

The next to fall was New Jersey’s Jenny “Mobey” Svancara. She bowed out in 3rd place after getting it in with a flopped two pair only to have Gerhart turn a bigger two pair. Gerhart began the heads-up with a slight chip lead over “Duckmoney420,” but an early double up helped the latter to take the lead. They jostled back and forth until Gerhart fought back into the lead before closing it with a win.

On the final hand, Gerhart holding 9h 8s 7c 4c against Ks Qs Qc 6d of “Duckmoney420” opened for 1,800,000 and the latter defended to see a Ad 10c 6s flop. “Duckmoney420” then moved all-in for 2,555,954 and Gerhart called. “Duckmoney420” was ahead on the flop with his ladies and the 7s on the turn gave him a flush draw but it also completed Gerhart’s straight. “Duckmoney420’s” now needed to catch a spade or a jack on the river but it came the 2c eliminating him in second place.

Kenneth “KBconcepts” Phillips bubbled the tournament in 151st place. Among notables to finish in the money were Jamie “DanBilzerian” Kerstetter (111th – $920.97), Phil “Lumestackin” Hellmuth (95th – $920.97), Ryan “bitc0in” Riess (55th – $1,227.96), Event #12 champ Ryan “joeyisamush” Depaulo (51st – $1,381.45), Shaun “ddtgg” Deeb (36th – $2,30242), Tom “looter” Marchese (12th – $5,935.14), Connor “666666” Drinan (11th – $5,935.14), and Tammy “rynom” Brindise (8th – $10,591.15).
