The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, which serves as a unique live-online hybrid solution to finding a successor to current reigning World Champion Hossein Ensan, is already up and running on GGPoker. The prestigious tournament sporting a traditional buy-in of $10K is open to players in the United States on WSOP.com, while international players can play it on GGPoker.
A true freezeout tournament, it will host all its flights online. Players in the United States can travel to Nevada or New Jersey to play in a single opening flight on WSOP.com, while international players can compete across three starting flights on GGPoker. The final table of these two separate tournaments will be played live. The final table from the WSOP.com will play down to a winner in Las Vegas, while GGPoker’s final table will battle it out at King’s Casino in Rozvadov. Finally, the winner of each final table will face off in a winner-take-all HU on December 30 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The winner will take home an additional $1 million and the title of WSOP World Champion.
2020 WSOP Main Event Day 1B: Blaz Zerjav Leads 42 Survivors
The international portion of the 2020 WSOP $10K Main Event is already running on GGPoker and December 5 saw its second starting flight – Day 1B. The day ended with 42 players out of 171 entries advancing to Day 2. With 171 from Day 1B, the total field has reached 417 entries, with 104 players through to Day 2 thus far. More than $4.1 million is already in prize pool, and it is set to increase significantly with the third and final flight of the international portion still to go on December 6.
Slovenia’s Blaz Zerjav, third-place finisher in the 2018 partypoker MILLIONS Online, ended Day 1B as the chip leader with a stack of 639,394 (128 bbs), good for an overall chip lead through two flights. Fellow Day 1b big stacks Rodrigo “sauvage” Valente (592,043) and Amir “8ty4calling8” Dvir (538,003) rounded out the top 3 stacks and surpassed the Day 1A chip leader Julian “VWgunther” Menhardt.
Other big stacks on Day 1B included the likes of Artem “Ar0wana” Vezhenkov (511,114), Javier Gomez (427,190), Qibing “degenkaliu” Wang (392,108), and Brazil’s Diego “TeaLover” Falcone (341,782).
Other notable names making it through to Day 2 included WSOP gold bracelet winners Simon Lofberg (323,563), Ireland’sIreland’s Toby “shinerrr” Joyce (243,195), and Barak Wisbrod (177,386).
Joining them in advancing were Thomas “MickeyM” Boivin (295,681), PokerStars EPT Monte Carlo SHR winner Sergio Aido (270,355), Luigi “shadinho94” Shehadeh (256,730), Diego “Ushuaia1” Zeiter (245,830), Alexandre “STAY_HUNGRY” Reard (216,609), Anton “RUN_CMD” Wigg (210,608), Ivan “Cordialement” Deyra (148,142), Simon “FiestaPagana” Mattsson (131,241),& Alex Difelice (114,802).
Unfortunately, no Indian could not make it to the list of survivors from Day 1B of the main event.
