Welcome to the Live Coverage of the DPT Xpress 5K Burn N Turn Event!

Hello and welcome to the country’s first live poker series of 2021 – The DPT Xpress! Touted to be “India’s Most Buzzing Poker Tournament”,  the series is happening in Goa after almost a year since the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted what promised to be a massive year for live poker in India.

This is the fifth edition of the DPT Xpress and once again will be hosted onboard the deluxe Casino Deltin Royale. The series will kick off in a while from now with the 5K Burn N Turn Event at 5 PM!

The buy-in for the event is INR 5K and players will start with a 10K (200BB) stack. It is a re-entry + add-on tourney featuring 15-minute levels. The late registration will remain open till the end of level 8.

Last time, it was Anish Juwarkar who took down the event and the race for the title starts again today. Stay tuned in for the live updates from the opening tournament right here. Good luck at the felts!

The cards are in the air for the opening event – 5k Burn N Turn and we begin with level one of the day. It is a 5k buy-in tournament featuring a 10k starting stack. Late registration is open till level 8.

Simon Mint Busted Early

In the last 15-20 minutes, there have been several eliminations. One of the recent eliminations is Simon Mint. He was busted by the WPT India 2018 Ship IT champion Sacheen Ramchandani who opened UTG with 325 and a player in UTG +2 flatted. Everyone folded until it came to Simon Mint in Hijack who shoved it all in. While everyone else on the table folded, Ramchandani called.

Pawan Jaiswal Double Up Through Bansal

Shalab Bansal opens to 4x and Pawan Jaiswal shoves from big blind for 12k and Bansal makes the call.

The opening event of the DPT Xpress March 2021 is off to a great start. Already 150 entries on the board and still counting. Shivam Jain Takes It Down From Abhishek Sharma

Adda52 streamer Shivam Jain opened the HJ to 800 and Abhishek Sharma in the big blind made it to 2400. Jain announced him all-in.  Sharma snap-folded and Jain won the hand to collect the pot.

Former DPT Xpress Main Event Champion Busts Two Players!

In a pre-flop action, a player from UTG open-shoved for 7k. The former DPT Xpress Main Event champion Ankit Jajodia from UTG +1 called and Hari Krishna from SB re-shoved for 14K, which Jajodia called.  At the showdown:

Krishna: 9x 9x

The board ran out 5h 10d  2s 3c 2s were Jajodia’s pocket jacks were good and he won the pot, busting both of his opponents.

Shagun Jain Busted

Level – 8

In a pre-flop action, Shalab Bansal opened HJ to 3x and Shagun Jain from the button shoved all-in for 8500. After giving it a little thought, Bansal made the call and the cards were turned over.

With a jack falling on the river, Bansal beat pocket sevens of Shagun and took down the pot, busing Shagun in the process.

Final Numbers Stand At 333 Entries!

With the end of the late registration, the total number of entries stands at 333, which includes 224 entries (including unique and re-buys) and 109 add-ons. This is a massive improvement over 197 entries coming in for the previous 5K Burn N Turn event last year in February.

M. Khan Doubles-Up Through Ramesh Roa Thotapalli

In a pre-flop action, M. Khan from the middle position open-raised to 4x and Ramesh Rao Thotapalli shoved his 25 big blinds.  After giving it a little thought, Khan eventually made the call with a 31K stack.

Khan flopped two pair with Ace & King and took down the pot, leaving Thotapalli  short-stacked.

Former DPT Xpress Main Event Champion Anant Purohit Doubles Up

Adda52’s Full House champion Chirag Sodha from UTG opened to 4500. Everyone folded until it came to former DPT Xpress Main Event champion Anant Purohit in the SB who decided to shove all in for 32k and Sodha called. Sodha tabled pocket eights, while Purohit showed AQ off-suited.

The board ran  6x  6x 10x  9x Qx, giving Purohit a top pair with queens to take down the pot and double-up.

Gaurav Jain Doubles-Up!

Gaurav Jain open-shoved from the middle position for a 7BB stack holding AK and Clinton Fernandes re-shoved his AQ from the button. The board Qx 9x Kx Ax 10x connected for both players but Jain hit the higher two pairs and took down the pot, securing himself a much-needed double-up.

The board ran out A-4-5-6-9 where pocket threes could not hold up and Ankita got busted.

Nilesh Mundada Goes Out In 26th for INR 12,300!

Nilesh from the late position shoved all-in holding KQ off-suited and got a caller in KN Suresh who had J-10. The board ran out 3-8-7-J-5, giving Suresh a top pair with a jack. Suresh took down the pot, while Nilesh got busted.

In pre-flop action, we saw the short-stacked Yash shoving all in from the HJ. Sandeep Singh Kohli in the big blind made the call and the cards were turned over.

Ritesh Khatwani who started the final table as the shortest stack is the latest elimination from the FT. He was in UTG and shoved all-in with A-5. KN Suresh in BB re-shoved with AK.

Abhishek from the button shoved for 180k holding AJ and was called by Gaurav Jain from the BB who held A-9. The board ran out 5, K, 5, 9, 8 where the latter found a pair of nine on the turn to bust Abhishek in 7th place.

Siddharth Ranshevre Eliminated In 6th Place (INR 65,000)

Blinds – 50K-100K

Siddharth Ranshevre shoved his stack of 220K putting his tournament life at risk. He was called by the start of the FT chip leader Nikunj Doshi who held  A-5 against 7-10 of Siddharth.

The board K-5-J-2-A gave Doshi two pair to win the pot and bust his opponent in 6th place.

Sachin Doubles Through Suresh

Level – 23

Blinds – 50K-100K

In this hand, Sachin Kinger shoved all-in for 260k holding 5c 6s and Suresh called with Kc Jc.  The board gave Sachin a pair of six on the river which was good to win him the pot and double-up.


Gaurav Jain Goes Out in 5th for INR 65,000

In a pre-flop action, Gaurav Jain shoved all-in for 1.3 Lac and got a caller in Shrey Baj who held Qc 8c against J-10 off-suited of Jain.

The board ran 4c Ad Ac 10c Qh, giving Baj a flush on the turn to win the pot and bust his opponent in 5th place.  

Shrey Busts KN Suresh In 4th  Place To Take The Chip Lead

With blinds souring up, eliminations are quick on the final table. Just now we saw Suresh KN leaving the table. He pitted his Jx 7x against K-10 of Shrey.

The board ran out K-10-A-8-9-5 where Shrey flopped two pairs to take down the pot and bust his opponent in 4th place (INR 1,02,000).

Sachin Kinger Finishes 3rd For INR 1,55,000

Level – 26

Blinds – 100k-200k

With Sachin Kinger falling in 3rd for INR 1,55,000, it is now down to heads-up for the title between Shrey and Nikunj Doshi. 

In this hand, Sachin moved all-in with K2 and Shrey made the call holding pocket kings.  The board opened 3h 6s Qd 4c 10c ran where pockets kings were good and Sachin got eliminated.

With this hand, Shrey took a commanding chip lead into heads-up with Nikunj Doshi.

Heads-up For The Title!

Finally, we are down to heads-up for the title between Nikunj Doshi and Shrey Baj with the latter having a slight advantage over his opponent. 

Shrey Doubles Up To Regain His Chip Lead

Shrey opened shoved A9off and Nikunj made the call with A8. The board ran out 6s 9c 10h 2d 4c. Nikunj missed his gutshot and Shrey double-up.

Nikunj Doshi Eliminated in 2nd Place for INR 2,50,000

 Finally, it is over with Shrey shipping it to win his career-first live title.

The board runs out 5x Ax 10x Jx 8x where pocket queens hold up and we have a winner in Shrey Baj from Jaipur.  He takes home a cool INR 3.35 Lac and a beautiful DPT Xpress trophy.

Shrey Baj Champions the DPT Xpress March 2021 5K Burn N Turn Event!

The opening event of the DPT Xpress March 2021, the #5KBurnNTurn event, has culminated, crowning a champion in Shrey Baj from Jaipur.
Baj came out on top of a 333-entry field to win his first-ever DPT title for INR 3.35 Lac. Nikunj Doshi who started the FT as the chip leader came close to winning it but had to settle for the runner-up prize worth INR 2.50 Lac.

Shrey began the final table with the second largest stack but scored back-to-back eliminations, busting KN Suresh in 4thplace and then taking out Sachin Kinger in 3rd place to take the chip lead into heads-up with Nikunj Doshi. Although Doshi was able to double-up and take the chip lead, Shrey refused to give up and eventually made his way to the top! We congratulate
both Shrey and Doshi for their amazing performance and wish them good luck for the remaining DPT Xpress events!
