The inaugural World Poker Tour (WPT) DeepStacks Hanoi is a wrap with Nguyễn Văn Phinh taking down its WPTDS Hanoi Main Event title! Running from April 16 to 25 at the Crown Poker Club in Hanoi, the series enjoyed a successful run, drawing in an impressive 1,410 entries across 13 events.
The key highlight of the marquee series was the VNđ 22,000,000 (~$954) buy-in Main Event. Running from April 21-25, the main event garnered 378 entries across four starting flights to generate a massive prizepool of VNđ 7,333,200,000 (~$318,086) that was shared by the top 48 finishers.
Nguyễn Văn Phinh came out on top to win the first-ever WPTDS Hanoi Main Event for a cool VNđ 842,000,000 (~$36,522). Phinh defeated USA’s Hồ Duy Manh(2nd for VNđ 1,012,000,000) in heads-up. This win happens to be Phinh’s career-first live title and his career-best finish. He has joined the elite club of WPT Vietnam champions like India’s Dhaval Mudgal, Vincent Chauve, and Hamish Crawshaw.
The mega main event ended in a four-way ICM deal, with Lý Đắc Dũng (3rd for VNđ 953,000,000) and Nguyen Trung Ha (4th for VNđ 930,000,000) being the other notables securing the top payouts.

Nguyễn Văn Phinh Also Wins ‘Player of the Series’ (POS) Title
It turned out to be a memorable series for Phinh as he also picked up a third-place finish in the Megastack Finale for VNđ 50,000,000 (~$2,169) that helped him win the ‘Player of the Series’ (POS) title as well. The Player of the Series saw a neck to neck competition. Phạm Ngọc Quốc Bảo was the frontrunner and he was also on the final table of the Crown Poker Club SuperStack Classic. USA’s Hồ Duy Manh was another very strong contender, as he entered the Main Event FT with the fourth-largest stack. Eventually, Nguyễn Văn Phinh, who made back-to-back deep runs in the Main Event and the MegaStack Finale, claimed the coveted POS title, the trophy, and a $1,500 WPT Passport.
