WPT Australia 2023: Ankit Ahuja Finishes Runner-up In Event #3: $5K 8-Max Action Clock

Team India continues to shine on the international poker circuit! India’s Ankit Ahuja is currently in the limelight! The Indian pro is currently playing the World Poker Tour (WPT) Australia at The Star Gold Coast poke. Slated to run from September 14 to 27, the series features 16 tournaments. The focal point of the series is the $8,000 WPT Main Event that will run from September 22 to 27, 2023.

Coming back to Ahuja, he narrowly missed out on his maiden WPT live title in Event #3: $5K 8-Max Action Clock at the ongoing series in Australia, finishing second behind Raphael Tenenbaum and collecting $77,618 for his remarkable performance. It was a maiden victory for Tenenbaum and he walked away with a a career-best prize of $116,424 for his well-deserved win in the tournament.

With his remarkable finish in this event, Ahuja has taken his live earnings to a whopping $ 1,838,605. The 2022 GPI POY India winner has been in terrific form and had finished 5th in the record-breaking Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event last month. He demonstrated his remarkable skills and persistence but could not go all the way in this WPT event. His final hand saw him and Tenenbaum go all-in on the flop 9h 4h 2c. With 10h 9s, Ahuja hitting a top pair was ahead, while his opponent (6h 2h) was behind with a bottom pair and a flush draw. The turn Js secured a flush for Tenenbaum and sealed the title for him. The river was an inconsequential 5c and Tenenbaum was crowned the champion!
