“Bakes” Replaces Dan Kelly from Third Place of WSOP Player of the Year Race; Negreanu Still on Top Spot

David Bakes BakerThe top ten in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Player of the Year has seen some shuffling plus new entries this week. David “Bakes” Baker, who finished as a runner-up in Event#43: $10,000 No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball has replaced Dan Kelly from third place. His runner-up finish is supported by his six times money finishes in the ongoing WSOP series along with four final table appearances. Like Kelly, Baker too is in a hunt for a bracelet. Kelly has started his WSOP 2013 with a bang when he finished eight times in cash in the first three weeks but last week was disappointing for him as he did not marked his presence in any of the events at all.

Another player in top ten who has not won a bracelet yet is Scott Clement. He has made it twice to the final table and has four money finishes. His best performance was when he finished fifth in Event#35: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha.

Kelly dropped from his third place last week to fifth as Jared Hamby’s bracelet winning performance at Event#40: $1,500 No Limit Hold’em rocketed him to the fourth place in the list. Other two bracelet winners this week Erick Lindgren and Jesse Martin are placed at eighth and ninth positions respectively.

Jason Duval has climbed up from his tenth place last week to sixth after making it to one more final table. He has already won a bracelet in the ongoing series. Mark Radoja dropped from his fifth plave to seventh despite being finished twice in money this week.

All this movement has not affected our top two in the WSOP Player of the Year race. Daniel Negreanu is still on the top spot with maximum points. He finished in cash twice this week. Tom Schneider also had a money finish and is just 20 points behind from Negreanu.

With more than 20 events left in 2013 WSOP, we can expect a lot movement in this list.
