The 3rd Edition Of WPT India Returns To Deltin Royale, Goa (October 15-21)

For the third year in a row, the World Poker Tour (WPT) will return to India to host what is touted as the biggest live poker tournament in India. Deltin Royale will once again provide a stellar stage as the 3rd WPT India will be held onboard the luxurious ship anchored on Mandovi River in Panjim, Goa.

WPT India debuted in November 2017 with the WPT Deepstacks Series hosted at the Deltin Royale, the largest floating casino in Goa. Powered by Adda52, the inaugural poker festival was a resounding success with over 1500 entries across 8 events, including 527 entries from WPT India Main Event alone, which crowned a champion in Vikash Mantri who earned INR 60,30,000 for his grand victory.

Following the roaring success of their inaugural series, WPT then hosted the second edition of WPT India in collaboration with its official Indian partner Adda52. The second edition that ran from 13th to 19th November 2018 turned to be a historic one and broke all previous records with over 1800 entries and more than INR 6 Crores in prizepool collected across its 8 exciting live tournaments. The WPT India Main Event in 2018 was won by high-stakes cash game player Nikunj Jhunjhunwala who defeated a record 697-entry field and Sahil Mahboobani in heads-up to earn a hefty INR 66.35 Lac.

WPT India 2019 Schedule

Capitalizing on the roaring success of its previous two editions, WPT – one of the most prestigious poker brands rivaling with WSOP has released the schedule for the 3rd edition of WPT India series. The upcoming festival takes place from 15th to 21st October 2019 at its usual venue – Deltin Royale in Goa and sports eight events on the schedule with the same buy-ins for all the featured tournaments.

The much-awaited series kicks off with the 20k buy-in Kickoff NLH on 15th October, a 2-day event that will feature 15k starting stack and 30-minute levels. This will be followed by the 35k buy-in SuperStack, which is again a 2-day event starting on 16th October and featuring 35k starting stack and 30-minute levels. 17th October will see the start of the 25k buy-in Big Bounty, a 2-day event with 1 re-entry that will cater to bounty lovers. It  will have 20k starting stack and 30-minute levels.

Once again, the biggest highlight of the series will be its 55k buy-in Main Event that begins with the first of its three starting flights at 3 PM on 18th October. The next two starting flights – Day 1B and 1C will be played on 19th October. The players will get 30k starting stack and each level will be of 40 minutes for Day 1A and 1B, whille 1C will feature 20-minute levels. The level duration will increase to 60-minutes for the Main Event Final table, which is slated to  be played on 21st October 2019.

The second biggest highlight of the upcoming WPT India series will be its 100k buy-in High Roller, again a 2-day event that kicks off at 7 PM on 20th October. Both the Main Event and the High Roller will play down to a champion on 21st October and running alongside will be the final event of the series, the 20k buy-in Megastack. Unlike the previous one, the upcoming High Roller that allows 2 re-entries will feature 40k starting stack but the level duration will be the same, 40-minute each.
