WSOP 2019: Zinan Xu Leads Final 40 In $1K Double Stack NLHE; Ashish Ahuja Is 14th Biggest Stack

The Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack of WSOP 2019 has been a grand success with 6,214 entries registering and generating a whopping $5,592,600 prizepool set to be shared by the top 933 players. It was an action-packed Day 3 that saw a field of 381 players come down to just 40 players, who will be returning tomorrow for Day 4 in their quest for the bracelet and the top prize of $687,782.

Leading the remaining 40 into Day 4 is Zinan Xu who has bagged up 16,775,000 chips. He spends the majority of his time playing poker in the Las Vegas area. He holds over $310,000 in live earnings with his largest cash of $56,000, which he got for his 4th place finish in the 2018 WSOP Circuit main event. A win or deep run in this event could take Xu to new heights in his live poker career.

Some other big stacks entering Day 4 of the event include Edgardo Rosario (13,100,000), Matthew Wantman (13,075,000) and Ryan Jaconetti (12,475,000). Another player to watch out for on Day 4 will be Joseph Cheong. The player ended the day with a massive stack of 11,175,000 chips.

Heading into Day 4 from Team India is Ashish Ahuja from Chandigarh. He holds a stack of 6,725,000 chips and is ranked 14th among the remaining 40. The lawyer-turned poker pro – Ahuja has already scored 3 cashes at the 2019 WSOP and he is now in the race to win the gold bracelet for India.

Four Indian players- Yasheel Doddanavar (1,412,000, Ashish Ahuja (1,181,000), Aditya Sushant (846,000) and Vinod Megalmani (668,000) had come for Day 3 but only Ahuja could survive the day. While Ahuja is still in contention, Doddanavar (68th for $8,685), Sushant (136th for $4,501) and Megalmani (139th for $4,501) exited the tournament before the day’s play concluded.

18 Indians in total had come for Day 2 with 7 of them already cashing and one still remaining in contention for the title. The four other Indians who cashed were Madhav Gupta (716th for $1,690 ), Dhaval Mudgal (723rd for $1,690 ), Gokul Parvathaneni (890th for $1,499) and Kartik Ved (907th for $1,499).

Day 3 of the $1,000 Double Stack saw so many eliminations and some notables to finish in the money included the likes of Timur Margolin (50th for $12,670), Ari Engel (53rd for $12,670), Justin Lapka (57th for $10,447), James Anderson (65th for $8,685) and Diogo Veiga (180th for $3,900).
